The class 1 railroads are privately owned. The govt has nothing to do with it. Even a good infrastructure plan wont include railroad money. They have plenty of it already. Theyll have to revamp the maintenance of way and signal unions to ever get enough help to fix the crumbling infrastructure all over the US. Pete wont be able to fill those projects with hardhats that look like the local projects

Slippery slope. Now we going to call Feds and Fema for every accident. The government going to start maintaining R/R bridges. The governor of Ohio hasn't impressed me at all. Natural disasters and responsible parties are two different things. The EPA and NTSB should have been there first day.

Heard from a couple of sources the CDC changed the vinyl chloride limit from 100 ppm to 100,000 ppm a few weeks before the crash. I'm trying to find the CDC doc which shows this change but no luck yet.
