Bill Gates has got to be the luckiest guy in the world. Just read that 6 weeks ago he heavily invested in Ecolab who will be charged with cleaning up all of these environmental disasters per the U.S. government. Can't beat Luck!

Let me state that I'm not fan of Bill Gates, nor his former wife.

But, with the amount of money Bill Gates has, I'd imagine that he can invest in practically everything. A lot of the financial advisors I follow say that you can't pick the segment that will the most successful in the upcoming year, so you should be diversified and invest in all of them. I would imagine Bill's doing something similar.

for everybody. I suggest if he really believes there are too many people on the earth

Ironic, ain't it, that Congress passed, and Jimmy Carter (not Trump) signed, the Staggers Rail Act of 1980 which deregulated the railroads? The Washington Post opined 35 years later:

"Free from artificial controls, railroads are once again profitable and investing billions of dollars each year into growing and modernizing America’s privately owned rail network. At the same time, shippers have seen a dramatic decrease in rates. Between 1981 and 2013, average rail rates fell 43 percent, adjusted for inflation. ... By any measure, the regulatory reforms passed in 1980 have benefited railroads, shippers and the greater economy."

Obviously non-governmental investment also had a dramatic effect on railroad safety as well.
