We'll kick this off with Vince Bottomley's handsome 22 Dasher. This features a Stiller Predator action in a Shehane Tracker II stock. The wood is laminated Obeche in "French Walnut" pattern. The top photo is 800 pixels wide. The bottom photo is 640 pixels wide.

I dont think I posted this gun in here before, but its quickly become a favorite of mine.

R700, 260AI CBI match chamber, 26" rem varmint rem/age barrel, Jewell HVR set at about 6 oz., steel 15moa rail, Sightron SIII 8-32x56, Warne steel rings, Rem 40xb stock. How about a beer league quality reconditioning of my late father's deer rifle?
The stock had chips and dents, cracks and staples(?) in the action area. The action screws had certainly done some damage as well as I could feel the action shift in the stock as much as 1/4 of an inch just be turning the rifle up/down. The bluing was scratched in various areas with some minor pitting here and there. However... the chamber looked great.
So essentially I took it from this:

To this:
Stock: I pulled the staples, glued the damage, bedded it from tang to forearm tip, cutting/placing a pillar for the rear action screw (the Mauser action has a 'pillar' in the front of the action), raised the stock dents, sanded it down to the lowest scratch, then sealed it and Tru-oiled it with around 20 coats.
B/A: I stripped the old blueing, steel wool polished everything, and straightened out the spring steel rear sight. I kept it in the raw steel with a nice light coat of Renaissance Wax to keep the rust away.

Thanks! Funny you should post this, this rifle is currently in the middle of a total make over. New 30" 1.25 straight barrel, going into the curly maple stock, too. Here is a preliminary fitting in the stock...

My three amigo’s... going from being a long time prone / XC shooter to FTR was a definite change but I got to build 3 new guns!
All have identical dimensioned McMillan Kestros stocks, with Alex Sitman doing his impeccable work. They wear Vortex GE scopes, with Kelbly rings.
L-R, Barnard S .223rem, my #1 Kelby Panda .308win, and my #2 Kelbly Panda .308. Best part is I can shoot FO with this stock and a 5min barrel change.

I'll start with the Berger 140VLDT I shot in my last barrel, they did well for me. Will probably end up around 20lbs, I may have to add lead to the butt stock for balance, though.

Finally got this finished and put together after shoulder surgery, etc. Kelbly Golden Bear, Trigger Tech Diamond, ABC 7t barrel in 22BR and the Xring stock, with the cheek piece cut and fabbed to adjust with my own design mast system. Stock was dyed with my selected, custom mixed tint after many trials and then shot with MANY (I lost count after 20!) coats of tinted, water based Varathane clear and straight clear on the last 6 coats. Hope to shoot it soon.

I have many nice rifles but this one is special as it’s very different.

meets nbrsa 10-1/2 light varmint short range specs;

Bat drop port ppc
Kensler 2 pcs benchrest chassis
Barrel block configuration
10-1/2 pound complete
Woolum tuner
Weaver scope (only to make weight)

Kensler hydraulic front rest. This rest out preforms a Seb joystick. The hydraulic system is fast and precise.

The gun has won a grand (100-200 nbrsa) aggregate recently so it does work.

This configuration has shot unbelievable well, might be the next generation of benchrest gun.

The gun was only put together as a proto type to test... a new carbon fiber configuration is being planed.

This configuration promotes the ideas of positive compensation and vibration control.
