Any recommendations for a battery chain saw?
What should I look for?
Use would be max 10 inch trees at the very most with 6” being usual use

Sounds like am EGO 14" would be perfect for that. I have the 18" version and it's pretty impressive. My daughter bought a small Dewalt and it stalls at anything over a twig.

I was very surprised at how well it cuts compared to a gasser. So far it has exceeded my expectations. Battery life is excellent.

One reason I bought it: my s-i-l said his field guys hadn't broken it yet, so high praise indeed.

when they first came out i bought a 20 v Dewalt and it has been quite good.

there have been many improvements since they first came on the scene.

I don't use mine a whole lot, but I have an 18V Ryobi w/14" bar IIRC. Have cut down and cut up a large aspen along with others with the thing. Still works fine, but don't know how much longer it will last. Have other 18V Ryobi stuff, so thats why I bought it. Kid bought me a new one, but haven't used it yet.

I have Makita battery tools ( no chainsaw) so if I were to buy a chainsaw I'd stay with my current battery platform..

That’s how I feel about the M18Fuel system on the Milwaukee stuff.

I have the husky version with 2 batteries. I built a plywood box/tray to put it in along with a qt of oil & spare chain. The batteries last a year and dont lose charge. The saw is a permanent fixture in the back passenger section of my truck cab. Never smell it. Cuts windfalls like a mofo.

I have the Husqvarna 40v. Cut down and chopped a 30 year old citrus tree and only used 1 bar of the battery. It also makes short work of pine and oak around our cabin.
