Wanted to revive this thread. Yesterday we lost the best and sweetest dog that my wife and I have ever had. She didn't care much for gunfire and would lay on top of her kennel in the truck while I was shooting, but going to the range with me was one of her favorite things.

Aero, I'm so sorry that you lost your buddy Brandi. I highly recommend that you refill her position as soon as possible. There is nothing like a new puppy to put a smile back in your heart.

These "best friends" of ours, seem to latch onto a little piece of our soul. You could say that they steal it, but we gladly give it up to them. They share it, and even grow it when they are here with us. And when they leave, they take it with them; and we have to learn to live without it, and them. For quite awhile it hurts about like losing an arm or a leg, and maybe that piece of soul never comes back. jd

I lost mine 3 seasons ago and I so miss him everyday. He slept with us and ate with us. He was about 16 years old.
