ODD PRIMER FINDINGS TODAY

Opened up a new brick of 1000 CCI BR-2 primers today and loaded them in my bench primer. Started seating them and noticed a large portion of them did not have the "B" stamped into the face of the primer. So, I decided to look at others in the brick and I do see more scattered thru the various pks. of 100 that are not stamped. I sent CCI an email at customer service but no reply as of today. Wondering if anybody here had seen this before ?

counterfeit sent in by China/Russian agents. Are the non- B stamped one really magnum pistol primers, 400 or 450.
Right it's hard to tell what they are for sure. Guess I'll sort thru them and separate the non-stamped from the stamped and pretend they are 200's or something. LOL.

Now I have to inspect the few remaining, rare as hens teeth BR2s I have. Not like you can just buy more at will at any local store. I am hoping to make it through the year with what I have on hand.

About 4 years ago I had reason to chat with CCI regarding an issue we had with some of their primers. Bottom line was that I called them on the phone. And the phone calls were answered within 24 hours by someone at their tech center at a different location. The persons that returned my calls were very helpful. JME, FWIW. WD

EDIT: Definately have the lot number handy when you call them. It is usually stamped into the sleeve of each hundred.

Bill, I'd load a few of each with your go to load and see
if they all hit the same spot, group the same and chrono them.
Who knows if they tell you to send them back, when or if you get a replacement.

Oh yea, I picked them out and placed them in a container that was empty. I'm definitely going to see if there is any difference in the way they act on the target. I believe I have went thru all of them now and I probably will not send them back. I mainly wanted to let CCI know that somebody was mixing primers or that is what appears to have happened anyway.
