Observing my wife and grandchildren.

A tad of background, I was at the VA surgery center getting my 18 month colonoscopy and endoscopy post cancer surgery.

The general practitioner at the VA appologized because has was forced to ask about my gener identity and if I had firearms in the house. He and I have a good relationship I told him to eff-off. He laughed and listed, refused to answer.

So I go back for the procedure and all is well and driving home my said she was glad thats over. If she had to sit in that waiting room and listed to that damn television much longer she was going to explode. She says that the entire country must be filled with effing stupid twats to whatch that shit!

She's been this way nearly 50 years, so I told her I was going to text the grandchildren so they could chastise her for being a foul mouthed Nanny! My 12 year old grand daughter told me that Nanny wasn't wrong about the TV and it was just the way Nanny is so put up with it! My grandson just laughed and showed me his new lego creation.

Good for nanny, especially the kids and you!
The last ass clown doctor I was seeing, it finally came down to me telling him "do your f###ing job that I'm here for and I won't have to knock your teeth down your throat" he finished appointment and we mutually agreed it was best I see a different doctor.

Best wishes for your continued medical progress. I have a special place in my heart for cancer patients, my wife of 48 years passed from cancer complications in 2021. It was too late for her but I'm always happy to hear of success stories. May the Lord Shine His blessings on you and your family.

I stopped watching CNN and Fox News in December 2022; watching that garbage is very bad for the health and psyche. After the last election, I feel like I'm living in an alternate universe. I know that "ostrich mode" perhaps isn't the wisest mode but it works for me. I just cannot take all the nonsensical BS on the news channels.

In addition, to keep peace in the family, I do not engage with my liberal in laws when the issue of politics arises which is quite frequently. What you can you say to people who voted for Fetterman in PA? How can you reason with them? The answer - You can't so don't bother trying. Besides, they already believe that I'm deranged because I'm a lifelong hunter and shooter even though I have no criminal record and I'm an honorably discharged veteran which incidentally none of them served. Sorry for the vent.

I live in PA also and I totally agree with you. Arguing with them you might as well beat your head against a block wall. I'm not that well liked in my family anyway so I still argue once in awhile.
Thank you for your service.

I live in Arkansas and have an uberlib sister in Virginia (Transplanted from California, no surprise) who's the same way. So is so steeped in far left ideology that she's immune to facts. She has 2 PhD's, which probably explains why.

Sorry for your loss, I got lucky and that's no kidding, in today's world with technology supposedly as good as it is, it is it really came down to luck. Maybe God smiled I'm my direction, I certainly have no idea why but it worked out.

This was not the VA's fault, I showed up at their ER, needed immediate emergency surgery and all their teams were busy so the sent me to Hershey Medical Center on the VA's dime, who damn near killed me. I left against the doctors advice.

The VA told me if I had more issues not to travel to them, I could go to any ER, after 3 more trips to the local hospitals ER by accident they found the tumor. After 5 CAT Scans a simple colonoscopy found the problem. So much for multi-million dollar machines. Simple doctoring saved the day. I had 3 liters of gunk (that looked like oatmeal) in me so the scans were useless but they kept on doing them anyway.

After my first ER visit, my daughter-in-law who is the lead shift nurse in critical care at the local hospital and my wife did a web search on my symptoms and came up with a diagnosis of a intestinal blockage by my spleen.

It took the medical profession 4 ER trips and hospital stays, 5 CAT Scans, 6 Xrays, over 50 blood tests, 2 enemas over a 3 week period to come up with a diagnosis, an intestinal blockage by my spleen.

I went from 264 pounds to 194, was mostly in, but in and out of the hospital from January 10 to March 18 2021, 2 intestinal surgeries, home IV bags for 6 weeks, chemotherapy and to this day they have spent 1.85 million.

I'm now 263 pounds, walikg a few Mike's every day, jogging a bit, shooting and making hits on steel at 650 yards and spending all my time with the family.

Gotta love America!

I am glad it is working out for you. My wife and I, like you and yours have come to realize that you have to be your own doctor and just push your way around to get what you need. Otherwise you are just a number to the medical field.

I know where your coming from.

It's amazing how much time you have to talk about the reason for the visit when you refuse their social indoctrination questionnaire.
YES, like they insult me by asking if I'm mentally ill, I was born a man and I have a name that's my identity, then do you have a gun? WTF!

I had an annual just recently after skipping last year's( canceled it, told the doctor greatest danger was the office visit). Almost thought he was going to ask the "safety and gun", but he caught himself. Than started to ask me about a flu or COVID shot, apologized saying I have to ask but know your answer. Told him I wouldn't dignify either of those "health options" with an answer. Thanks, see ya next year.
