Oak Ridge this weekend.

Anyone else braving the weather this weekend. According to AccuWeather, no falling weather, just nice and crisp in the mornings!

I think we will have a good turnout. I've spoken with several of the regulars. I'll be there with the palma rifles trying a new load with super secret powder that I am actually able to get. Preliminary tests look very good.

Vectan variety?

Don't hit a frame Matt

Don't know anything about Vectan. I was not able to get there this weekend. It's not really a secret powder. Just something I came across.

Hope others chime in. I did horrrrrrible! But still had a blast. Learned a few things. Never load straight out of the box without prepping brass... I know, that is basic stuff, but it was the difference between making the match or not.

Wind Saturday was 12-25 mph according to Accuweather. Switching winds with 25 mph at Oak Ridge is just unpredictable.... I held the edge of the frame on one side and scored a 10. Next shot wind switched on the flags to the same pattern in the opposite direction. Edge of the frame on the other side and a 10. I also had about minute dialed in on top of that. Decided I was not comfortable holding the edge of the target frame in the 5 ring so I turned the knobs....the wrong way....
Never recovered that match.

Sunday was better, but the wind was just as switchy. Lost track of how many times the entire target boards came up with the same thing, shifts out the side. Several times the switches caused a lot of vertical issues. Typical Oak Ridge.

Great time though and great group of guys to shoot with!

Yea, it was last April that I was shooting 10s and Xs holding on the X marker on the right edge of the target with a bunch dialed on.

Spring can be right sporty in OR, sorry I wasn't there.

See ya in Butner later this week.

Sunday was a pretty good match with a decent turnout as well. Winds were switchy but not that high. I shot a pretty good score.

Sounds like a challenging weekend, congrats to the winners and glad everyone had a good time. One of these days i'd like to get up to Oakridge. Only place i've ever shot in Tennessee was Tullahoma and i enjoy that range and the people very much.

3X600 yard match on Sunday still on?
When you say "Sunday" Do you mean Sunday April 17th? I am looking at the schedule on their page and am not clear if there is a match Sunday, Saturday or both?

Can someone confirm?

Thanks
