O K SO DO I HAVE TO EAT CROW ?

Can't be any worse than groundhog legs - well, maybe it can be.

But seriously, I never doubted the benefits of annealing, anything that makes the process more consistent has to be helpful in precision shooting. I am just too old to start now and do not want to buy more equipment - it violates my "minimalist" creed. ;)

Besides, I am getting the results I need without it, but I am in no danger of ever winning a target shooting competition unless it is restricted to cross sticks and then I will take on all comers. ;)

With this induction unit I built I can't imagine an AMP would improve anything. I told Bill we need to shoot a couple test. 2 - 5 shot groups, no annealing, 2 - 5 shot groups using my annealer. And find someone to Amp anneal to do 10 for us to do 2 - 5 shot groups with that brass. Compare the ES and SD and share. I'd be shocked to see much better changes with the AMP but if I did..... I'm the type I'd end up buying one.
I have $225-$250 in my homemade induction unit. It's fast and quiet.

Who's got an AMP we can send 10 pieces of brass to?

Quite literally the one “main” thing I have done to cut numbers drastically and consistently. I even anneal my 30-30 and 32-20 brass now that only goes out a couple hundred yards. Same experience as you, immediately went from double digit sd to single and teens es.

I anneal after every firing and it makes seating much easier. I use Redding Dry Graphite to seat the bullet. Crow is not so bad if you eat enough of it, kinda get used to the taste, but would rather eat something else.

do I have to eat crow?
No, and I doubt it's a done deal on one parameter.
After all, it could be easy to get a low ES combination/method -that shoots like crap..

Some folks lower ES with crimping, or with annealing, or sizing changes, etc.
There are all kinds of adjustments to local powder tune.
Annealing lowers tension, thereby variance of tension, but then your load needs to like low tension.
It's hard to calibrate affects of annealing compared to tension changes through sizing, so I look at sizing results to determine if annealing could be a viable/long term solution.
But so far I haven't seen frequent annealing as a solution over sizing. If anything, I'm leaning towards crimping.

Go another cartridge/barrel/chamber/dies/powders/primers, and it can all change

You have seen the light.
Whether you use flame or induction makes little difference provided your technique is proper.
Leave crows out of it, I say dig into a nice, thick porterhouse.
Oh, and wash it down with a good whiskey....
