NRA

Lets pause just for a moment to remember all that the NRA does for us in the protection of our 2nd Amendment rights.

They don't get it all right, they never will. If the truth be told, none of us in these room ever get it all just right, we all could stand to tighten up in one or more areas in our lives. I don't want their cheap knives, or duffles, or caps...what I want is the continued right to legally own and use my firearms. I appreciate the work the NRA does to preserve those rights.

I don't care much for 'trinkets', or magazines or constant pleas for money due to a 'crisis', real or imagined.
I send some money when I can afford it via bank MO with no enclosed return address when I can. Occasionally I get a mailing which is filed in the circular file unopened.

Seems to keep everyone happy on both ends.

YMMV

The american made knife would cost more but i do agree they should offer an american made knife and sell them with a membership. I know theres an american company like case that would give them such a deal that you could choose to donate an additional $25 and get a $40 knife. Case, nra would make some more money and youd get a good deal
I for one would pay the difference and be proud of an American made NRA knife and down the road it would only gain in value

I try to buy my clothing from US manufacturers also, not easy and more expensive than most Americans want to spend. For example, the cheapest US made quality jean costs about $70, I predict there aren’t many takers around here.

I am well aware of where Kizer knives are made. They are an example of a Chinese manufactured product, made of excellent quality materials with first rate fit and finish, for an amazing price. Welcome to the global economy.
Try prison blues ,super tough and made by inmates ,under $35 bucks

Sorry, I forgot you are all knowing.

So whats an IRS Form 990?

Nonprofit corporations must submit their financial statements, which include the salaries of directors, officers and key employees to the IRS on Form 990. Both the IRS and the nonprofit corporation are required to disclose the information they provide on Form 990 to the public when requested.
I stand corrected.

If 5 million keeps the swamp from restricting gun rights, then it’s worth it.

If Biliary would have won, I shudder to think of where we’d be now or what would be in the future.

I call it divine intervention that she lost.

If we don’t forget GOD, we’ll always have His protection.

You shouldn't join the NRA for a free knife or a monthly magazine. All of those things take resources away from being able to fight for the 2A rights of all of us. P.S. you can get the magazine via you computer. As far as getting those annoying request for money. Become a life member and ignore them for a few years and they will quit sending them to you.

I hate the mail as much as the next member, but I give them the benefit of the doubt. People *do* sign up for the knife, hat or whatever. It pushes them over the edge. That, and for every hat they give away, they get one more member who might wear it out and spread the word that the NRA is in fact the regular folks they know and not the raving lunatics that the media portrays them as. That's valuable.

Like it or not, just about everything is made somewhere else. That's more a sign of the times than anything. How's the NRA going to give away a $75 knife to get a $30 membership? It has to make economic sense, or it doesn't happen.

They've been at this for longer than we've been alive, and the fact remains that it's the #1 gun rights organization by a huge margin. Like any big organization, they have flaws - some severe. But ask yourself, are you better of with or without the NRA?

Bingo!! And as NRA members and responsible gun owners, it is our job, and to our interests to be sane, informed, and responsible supporters of our cause. Don't be scary, and don't be a dumb-ass.

In our future, the folks who hold our rights in their hands aren't the rabid anti-gunners, it is the majority of people who have no dog in the fight, and just don't happen to own guns. They can vote either way, and they need to believe that we are the good guys. jd

Well, he may be worth it? So far, the management team did a lot of good things and if you look at it from a size perspective, the NRA with all its paying members (customers) is a pretty big thing that needs to be controlled. As a CEO in a similarly sized for profit organization, that position would probably paid much more.

If they didn't pay Wayne LaPierre $5 million a year it would help!

Untill we accept wages appropriate to price ..... Things will be too expensive to make here.
