The gift knife I received for renewing my NRA-ILA membership boldly states "MADE IN CHINA" on the blade. The knife is now in the trash can for Monday morning pickup. That bothered me, badly. My rant is over.
and i feel the same way. i guess the gift thing works or they wouldnt do it but when i donate id prefer all the money i send go to “the cause”The gift knife I received for renewing my NRA-ILA membership boldly states "MADE IN CHINA" on the blade. problem is they concentrate on the people who they think will donate and so those people get overwelmed with requests while some members never get requests because they dont donate. still i think i should donate to them once in awhileUmmm, I know the big "China" thing, and it might seem wrong to you for the NRA to use Chinese products for promotion. I don't see a big problem. It is simply a small gratuity or incentive to hopefully boost membership.
The NRA NEEDS our support, membership, and donations to be effective in the skanky world of politics where our rights are in danger. They won't quit needing our money, and hopefully we won't quit giving it.
I get tired of all the mail I get from them, but when I can afford it, I send some US dollars to them. I kind of wish that they had a donor program where if I send them say-- $200 per year, they'd send me the mag and none of the junk mail.jd
thats exactly how i was—i was in the trades and no building no job for meI am not a member of the NRA-ILA for the gifts. I am fully aware of the NRA-ILA function and purpose, which is why I continue to support the cause.
What I do mind, and I do care about, is American made from an American institution.
I am AMERICAN manufacturing, and it means something to me, my livelihood and job.
Sorry to hear that! Mine was a custom George Herron!!The gift knife I received for renewing my NRA-ILA membership boldly states "MADE IN CHINA" on the blade. The knife is now in the trash can for Monday morning pickup. That bothered me, badly. My rant is over.
What do you suppose an American made knife of that size would cost????I am not a member of the NRA-ILA for the gifts. I am fully aware of the NRA-ILA function and purpose, which is why I continue to support the cause.

George was from South Carolina.Jim, I think you missed the boat. Who cares what extra you paid for a custom knife of good quality made in USA? Good for you...and great for George Herron out of Arizona! Bad for NRA-ILA American institution for peddling lower case chinese crap.
The point is, the money should stay here in America.
Wow, you discerned her logic after 3 words, impressive.I agree 110%, but I would go get it out of the trash and send it back to them with a letter. That's what I am doing. I upgraded my membership and while on the phone, I actually asked where the gift jacket was made. They said they didn't know, so I said if it's not from USA, I don't want it. I got it anyway and it's even the wrong size. So I called 3 or 4 of their phone numbers and got the run around. I even had some arrogant young girl ask me if I wanted her to explain to me why they purchased from overseas.I cut her off after about the 3rd word and explained to her how dumb her logic was. I am writing a brief and to the point letter and sending it to them with the jacket on my dime. I feel that tossing it wouldn't get the message to them. I don't know if what I am doing will change anything, but I damn sure want them to know that I don't appreciate them spending the money I give them in a country that doesn't support the freedoms that the NRA fights for. I don't spend my money on anything from those countries and I don't want them to spend my money that way either.
