NRA Saga Continues

Sad and inevitable - a real mess

I don't mind NRA stuff in my mail box any more than pizza ads. The more I know about internal workings of the NRA the less confident I am about the future of the NRA. I dislike the constant internal power struggles I have witnessed since the days of Neal Knox. The NRA (just about the only game in town) is needed to preserve our 2nd Amendment rights and support the shooting sports; if it were not for that I would drop my membership immediately.

I am a $100 life member.

I would send them a few bucks now & then but stopped being a member to keep the heat off my mailbox. Recently I joined again as a requirement of membership to a shooting range......The mailbox is SCREAMING once again....o_O

Rick

First the new York times is extremely biased.
Agree with 1badgoat about our leader.
As a competitor in XTC and long range the NRA has definitely left us, thank god for the CMP.
I won't leave the NRA no matter what.

PS Agree strongly with AINyhus.

You guys remember that the media and the enemies of the 2nd will make the situation more than what it is.
I don't trust what I'm reading and I'm willing to not spread the destruction.

A guy that gave a mill and that plans to leave a mill when he dies ....
Sounds like chicken scratch compared to the true mega contributors ....

The NRA is always asking for money to defray the costs of advertising which foster our 2nd Amendment rights. If it were not for the NRA your wouldn't have those rights.

Yes they are screwed up right now, with Oliver North leaving because of his side deals with the advertising company, and the seemingly excessive spending by some of the leaders, but that should not stop you from supporting the only group that truly supports your gun rights.

We need to have the NRA advertising machine up and running during the 2020 elections to prevent a socialist being elected.

I am a Patron member and will be upgrading to Benefactor level to support the NRA

Makes one wonder how much a board member is paid. Further what is the cost of a board meeting? With 76 board members flying in from all over the country, that alone is a costly proposition. These are the fat cats of society, and they don't travel on the cheap. Hotel costs, food and beverages mount up. Why would these guys not donate their time and efforts to a cause the supposedly are devoted to.

I have been a member of the NRA since I was 14 years old. Over those years I have donated a lot of money, but have recently stopped responding to their overwhelming correspondence, begging for more and more money while they continue spend and spend on shady contracts, within the board membership. I have also stopped allowing Midway to keep the odd change on my purchases there. You have to opt out on each order which angers me at times

LaPierre"s treatment of North and Cox, shows he is afraid of being held accountable for the wanton and needless over spending. This board has dragged the finances deep into the red. They have mortgaged OUR headquarters to the hilt.

Like many others the several shooting clubs I belong to require membership in the NRA.

Oliver North was removed because he challenged LaPierre on finances. Side deals were used as an excuse!Ask how many of the 67 board members do business with the NRA. That's a conflict of interest but is overlooked if you are a member of the clique.

By the way, I am a board member of a union and a retirement group.
