NRA Reform candidates

So the ballots arrived in March American Rifleman magazine. Items of note:

1. Bylaws changing due to "Compliance Officer" appearing to gain more influence. At least on the surface.

2. No way to vote for a "Compliance Officer". That position seems to be appointed by the board. Yes, the same board that allowed Wayne to rip off the membership for decades.

3. I see four reform candidates listed above. Is that all there are?

4. The ballot says don't vote for more than 25 directors. Are you s@#^^ing me? Talk about a structure designed for failure.

Any thoughts?

OK so I voted. I voted for only the 4 reform candidates in the OP linked article. I did not vote for the other 21 which I consider stupidity beyond measure to have 75 directors with 25 expiring each year. The board should be 8 members at most and the executive VP should not have the power of a king.

I also voted for the change to the changes to the bylaws even though the bylaws need to change to neuter the power of the executive VP and there is no way to vote for a chief compliance officer. Will that person end up being Wayne's daughter or some other relative or an in the pocket hanger on?

Voting for any candidate other than those you really want is like voting against your favorites. Some people donj’t understand it undermines your intended winner.

On a second note, I consider voting as a license to bitch. If you don’t vote, I don’t want to listen to complaints. This applies to NRA issues as well as “other issues.” I wish we could do more to promote our cause, but most of the time voting is all we can do. It doesn’t take long, really!

Has anyone taken the bull by the horns and tried to criminally charge WLP? This is what must happen. Anybody running for the board must make this a position for election. WLP thievery cannot be ignored if they want to build up the membership numbers. Also the NRA should not pay for WLP's defense. If you are robbed, you wouldn't pay for the perps lawyer. I would like to see this move forward.

One of the first starting places for me is very simple. I would first look at the people who under Wayne's dictatorship were rejected and give them a fair look to see if maybe they should be given a chance.

The second thing is also very simple, if you went along to get along, then you should never make it to any kind of list to have public trust.

WLP is a well dressed thief, he needs to be charged. He stole our money. He needs to spend some time at Rikers Island.

“I’m taking this gun too! If anyone tries to stop me, I’ll punch’em!

A very well dressed thief, in an expensive suite. He should be in court losing his 2nd Amendment rights. He is about the lowest form of life, selling law and order while filling his pockets, his wife should be investigated also, what qualified her for such a high salary forma 'non-profit'?

Everyone is posting like we get a choice, from what I understand we will get to vote for what the rest of the board chooses to put on the ballot. Kinda like voting against Putin where the choices were picked by Putin.

The answer is simple.

There are lots of organizations that would gladly have your support. And yes, even the corrupt NRA.

The answer is very simple. If the candidates are not saying very loudly "WLP needs to be CHARGED and PROSECUTED for stealing" they do not belong on the board. They have lost the trust of the organization. 'Once the glass is broken, it can be glued back together, but it won't be the same'.

You are too lazy and cheap to vote, yet you can find the time to bitch.
It's easy to slam a member over this topic. Perhaps, not cutting the cancer out makes sense to you but everyone sitting at the table knew what was going on for years. For those that walked away, kudos.

Clean slate and open the doors and windows to air the place out.

PDS The last couple of years before I retired I work for myself in some pretty remote places. I used to get 2 or 3 calls per day from the NRA wanting money so they could save my 2nd amendment rights. Many times i would be up a ladder or on scaffold and have to set down all my tools and answer a phone call from the NRA. Now it's all been revealed that it was so Mrs. Wayne could go get pampered at the spa, and the Wayne nephews and nieces could fly in the private jet to send the week in the islands. I had paid my dues for many years and was 3 years into a 5 year membership when all this came out. Give me a call and I will tell you when you can expect more NRA money from me. If I post it here I will be banned. I can't see why anyone would trust them at this point.
