++++++ This you don't have to live in VA to belong. Also, The VSSA, Virginia State Shooting Sports Association, was very visible in support of gun rights in VA this past year.

The NRA lost me with their extravagant spending years before Wayne’s “suitgate” came to light. Those jokers accomplish nothing when the friendly party is in control, then cries that the sky is falling when the other turds get into control. What is the NRA best at? Scaring the membership and poor-mouthing.

I do not believe that the tack that the NRA has taken over the past decade is working. When I joined at a young boy, the NRA was basically a hunter safety organization. Instead of the high salaries paid to certain officers of the NRA, I would have like to see some adds debunking what main stream media makes out Semi - Automatic rifles to be and what the reality is and things like Hollywood movies showing even the military spraying rounds for minutes rather than magazines being exhausted in a few seconds on full auto. Instead the constant, "it is our constitutional right to own and carry anything" will no longer work. I own a lot of guns, Rifles, Shotguns and Handguns and live in a place where many are against guns for all the wrong reasons. I do support a number of gun advocating groups, just am not over joyed about the NRA, though because of some of the clubs that I belong to, I have to be a member or resign.

Example - I showed a close friend who's daughter is an A Lister in Hollywood, my Bolt Action Chassis Built Rifle and she reacted "Why do you need an Assault Rifle?" Then I showed her my Thumbhole stocked Ruger 10/22 that she thought was cute until I told her that the thing she thought was an Assault Rifle was in fact not and the Ruger was under New York law and I had to register is as such in 2013. I than showed her a .308 round, a .223 round and a .22 RF round. She was sure that the .308 was a nasty AR round until I showed her that the little .223 was what was shot from what was actually considered an assault rifle. Too Bad that Armalite Didn't Call the Armalite Rifle something other than an AR.

People need to be educated and brought around. Most of my left leaning friends are no Anti-Gun, but are pro-responsible gun ownership. Sure, everyone thinks that will lead to confiscation. I still have every 4473 form, from the last 20 years, (older ones I have legally destroyed) that I filled out while I owned a gun shop. All the ATF has to do is call them and any gun bought legally from a gun dealer in the last 20 years will be out there the same as registration.

Right now, every Georgian should get out in January and make sure we do not lose the Senate. If we hold the senate, I think we can get through 4 more years and put together a strong candidate for 2024.

Man I am so depressed on this election results. Biden is going to tax all Ar15 guns 200.00each and high capacity magazines.
I own 5. Ar15 rifles and 50 high capacity magazine. I will loose a fortune. I have $200 tied up JUST in gun cases for them.

JoHara, I think you are generalizing a little too much. I have taken a number of Democrats to the range and had them shoot. Most either liked it, or at least said, "OK, I understand why you enjoy gun ownership". I don't push the personal protection side at all.

When I was flying for the airlines pre-Regan, the vast majority of controllers were Non-Pilots and thought that pilots were primo dana's. The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association institute a "Fly A Controller" program and it was well received and a great many controllers started to understand what was going on at the other end of the radio transmissions.

Maybe we should start a "Shoot a Democrat" Program, Ops, I mean "Take a Democrat Shooting".

I am a life member of the NRA and until Wayne is fired I will continue to ignore all request for more funds.
GOA looks to be the one to join and donate to, they seem to be more member friendly and involved in more states rights. IMO the NRA picks and chooses among the states, choosing the ones with better chances of winning the court battles.

All the above and more. When Bloomingidiot sued a few stores over straw purchase a while back the NRA refused to stand by any of them. All but one settled. The one countered and won, in fact got a judgement against Bberg.
I am sending all the funds NRA normally got from me to GOA and VCDL (even is I am not a VA resident). These two are actually working for US!

Google ex post facto. You can not make a law forbidding the ownership of something you currently own and was owned prior to the law being enacted that forbids ownership. Nor can they make you pay for ownership of the item because it was purchased prior to the law being passed.

Well, they did it with street sweepers and bump stocks and when the FFA was passed in the 30's all legally owned class 3,s had to be registered and a tax stamp purchased.
