NRA Membership?

Larry, My club backs up to an airport. We use berms and baffles on all of our ranges to keep inadvertent shots from leaving the range. Gateway Rifle & Pistol Club

We have trained Paid range officers and they must be present on the range to use it . The club took in $350.000 last year . The range is un safe . Larry
Thanks the problem is our president and the rest of the board of directors Larry

I'm not sure that's a correct statement!
Manatee's a great club and Larry has nothing but the best intentions for it. I just think he's frustrated with the slow process.
I'm not here to bash or air Manatee's dirty laundry.
IMHO, Manatee board were distracted with major issues in 2015 .
The boards highest priority was cleaning up major mismanagement issues at the club and that's been a big distraction for other high priorities, many of those issues are still unresolved.
Move a plant or a yard of dirty in Florida it's a joke to get a permit.

Larry:

The Range Services Department says they have not received an RTTA request form from Manatee Gun Club. To obtain their help, your club will have to follow the step by step procedures.

Thank you so much .
Some how I figured all we were getting was more lip service .
It was hard for me to believe that NRA non responsive. Thanks again Larry

You're welcome, Larry. Read your clubs bylaws. Does it contain a provision to allow the membership to vote and remove the board of directors/president and replace them? You might get someones attention with that!

The problem with the bylaws is you must be present to vote. For election of officers . They have a core group that backs what happens. Like the so called good ol boys . A few of us have tried to get NRA involved . They were the ones who told us about NRA not responding. Thanks again for the help .
Our club has around 270 acres and we are using 80 . We have all the makings of the finest range in the southern USA
Thanks again Larry

I wish you the best of luck, Larry! Internal problems or not, if the "good ole boys" don't understand the safety of the public is priority #1, they may soon find themselves locked out of their shooting range.

Make everybody AWARE that you are about to LOSE YOUR CLUB, explain the process (they need to be present to vote), and GET THEM OUT THERE TO VOTE.

Word of mouth, email, Facebook, whatever. Word spreads fast nowadays.

If they choose not to show up and vote, then they choose to accept the status quo, and the loss of their range.

Vote them out!

Your election is in two days. Get the word out!

And, 2nd Vice President is still open, with nobody's name on the ballot. Nominate yourself, and be part of the solution!

Your right Larry, the potential of the club is great.
Again, just MHO, as a member of Manatee one of the problems is the percentage of members that are seasonal snowbirds. That said, everyone still should be considered an equal member in the club an deserves a vote for the future of the club.
The bylaws should be changed to allow proxy voting so members can direct their vote to the board member who most closely reflects their views.

Nominate new blood.

Get a 2nd VP in there that will speak up and expose the chronyism and shady dealings.

They may not last long, but they can open people's eyes while they are there, and set the stage for a major change on the next ballot.

I'm done, you seem resigned to accepting defeat, and just want somebody else to fix your problems.

Good luck with your club.
