NRA F-Class Mid-Range Regional May 21-22 Bucksnort Rifle Club Marshall, MO

Please see the attached pdf of the scores.

This was a fantastic group of shooters. I was sure I would be submitting a national record before the weekend was over, but we made it through another match without it.

Thanks to all of the shooters for attending, Sierra for the drinks and bullet certificate donations, and Jon Perkins from 21st Century Shooting for the priming tool and barrel vise. Bucksnort is just a fantastic range and we always have a great time. I'm looking forward to seeing all of you again at the State Championship July 9-10th.

We had perfect weather.

There was plenty of food and beverages enjoyed by everyone afterwards. Brian reminded me of a Thomas Rhett song.....

Big grins from all of the winners...

The Arkies put a whoopin' on our local guys and went home $1 each richer.

A big shout out to Ryan and all his crew that helped make this an awesome weekend.A very well ran tournament! Congratulations to all the winners in this weekend's competition. Had a great time, enjoyed some good food, met some new folks and got to see some folks we met last year. Oh yeah, got to take home a Missouri dollar too. Bucksnort is a great place to shoot!!!! We will see you in July and we will bring food.

Ryan, Chris, and the Bucksnort crew:

Thanks for an awesome smoothly run match.

Great food, friends, and competition.

Special thanks to two new friends Brian and Craig who saved my match in the first stage on Saturday by loaning the tools to clean my chamber and action full of powder and remove the bullet stuck in the lands. I made the rookie mistake of trying to extract a round that had been cooking too long with a bullet in the lands. Don't do that.

Travis, the X-eater Frog trophy is proudly on display

If you haven't been to a Ryan run match at Bucksnort you need to. Once you do you will want to come back.

Randy

As usual, a great time at one of the best ranges around. A big thanks to Sierra for the drinks and Jon Perkins from 21st Century Shooting for the barrel vise, the vise will make a nice addition to the shop.

I want to point out a couple guys behind the scenes. Travis and Donnie Greer both brought fryers and a ice cream maker. Donnie forced me to take $20 on top of that. Talk about heros of the sport that are there when needed! Another is Joe Meyer, he brought all the condiments ($80) so we had utensils and plates to eat with. I'm trying to address 2 things that we need, #1 feed the wonderful hosts ,early birds and warriors that come in the middle of the night and sleep in their cars. #2 lunch available. I like to see a well run match as we all do but planning is everything. Financial help and sides keep us going in a marathon match. Lenny is bringing jumbo again so that's a good start! The people at Sierra saw this and provided us with a necessity. The state match is going to be something else I think. Heck, I'm not a member of this club but this is my state.
Fclass is new to this place so we got a few things to do. Joe had a good idea about running a row of (shoot over) flags down the middle that sounds perfect!

Another great match in the books. Thanks to Ryan and crew for running the match. Thanks to Ryan, Immike, and Travis and Donnie Greer for making the food possible. also, the Arkys imported some food. Strawberry ice cream was great. It was good to fellowship with the traveling shooters, and make some new friends. Congrats to all the winners! Randy Snook put on a "shooting exhibition"! He's on everyone's radar now.
And yes, them Arkansas boys got the better of us Missourians in the "showdown relay". The mules will rise again!
Hope to see everyone at a match soon.

I think the Ark/Mo F-Open pissing contest is great. By great, I mean a great distraction from a Texan coming in there for the first time and taking gold in the FTR ranks. Congratulations Ronnie Santhuff.

You're right Skip, Ronnie shot very well. And if I'm not mistaken did it with a .223,,,,,, very impressive!
Sorry for the distraction.

Thanks to Ryan and his crew for very well ran match. Job well done gentleman!! If you like fish/frogs/fries/hush puppies/ice cream and good fellowship please do not come to this match.:D Guy's this is a great range with a long history,,I believe Ryan told me it was built in 1953ish. This place is worth making the trip at least once.

Congrats to Randy Snook...like Joe said, he's defiantly on everyone's radar now.
Welcome back to the shooting game Brain Bowling, they said you were a good hand, I think you proved that this weekend.

To my buddy Ronnie Santhuff congrats man I'm proud of ya!!

You Misery....oops I mean Missouri boys put up a good fight...I wouldn't expect anything less in July.

The club was founded in 1958 and started matches at the current location in 1970 after shooting on farm fields for 12 years. George Hamilton, one of the original founding members came out to watch a while.
We run highpower XTC and midrange matches as well as smallbore prone and 3P. We also have two junior smallbore camps in the summer.

As one of the (very biased) highpower shooters I'll have to say the two F Class matches we've had so far have been an absolute blast.

I think I barely managed to limp my way to being the top shooter in the F-Open sling class (which I made up).

Scott

I wish could have stayed an extra week and joined you guys after my fun at BRRC, but already had entered a 3-day Fullbore match in MN. Looks like it was a grand 'ole time (no surprise). The MO crowd knows how to throw a match (party?). Congrats to all the winners. (....and ssshhhh about a 223 being competitive at 600yds. I don't want the secret to spread too far....:)) Drew

Scott, I guess that you would call that the "fling-class".

Ringostar

I plan to be at Lodi for the State match 6/25-26, and got the long range rifle tightened up (scope rail was loose at LR regional) so I don't spend so much time in the suburbs of the nine ring. Hope the electronic targets are coming around.

Aw heck, I forgot congrats to the winners.

Open- Randy Snook
FTR - Ronnie Santhuff
Fling- Scott Young

Greg Meredith was having trouble seeing the target well since the background was darker on the Fclass targets. ( yeah they shot Fclass targets!). I almost got him to try a relay with my spare but he couldn't do it with the "Death before Fclass" shirt on. Lol I think when I said joystick he cringed a little! Lmao

Randy, you got our attention before you fired a shot. I am up early most days and was watching deer on the range right at first light when you stirred in your car seat. I see the dedication shooter! Coming in after driving all night and kickin our cans was awesome!

As far as feed goes , Ryan is the man again with the bulk of the load. I've seen some big matches built around one day fish fries in the past but this is a better one. You guys get signed up for the state soon, If it doesn't fill up I will be surprised.
