NRA cap (hat)

Renewed my membership with the NRA a few weeks ago. As a gift for renewing they sent me an official "NRA" cap. I know there is an old saying "don't look a gift horse in the mouth" BUT in this case the MADE IN CHINA label was too much !!
It seems we have no choice any more on most items, cell phones, electronics, and any other of a number of items. All made in China
There are cap (hat) makers in the USA. My cap from Berger Bullets was made in the USA, and made very well. I don't know what the cost break down is between a cap made in China and one made in the USA would be. BUT National Rifle Association is about as american as you can get.
I would be ashamed to wear this MADE IN CHINA cap.
The NRA had a choice..(one of the few left to us). Spend a few bucks more and have the cap made in the USA, keep Americans working.
I know the NRA will come back with "every dollar saved is more money to fight for your gun rights" and I say "bull" .Just look at the NRA financial statements. There is more than enough money for a decent cap made in the USA. One I can wear with pride.

When I first became an Endowment Member, they sent me a statue of a "Minute Man". I was pretty impressed until I saw the "Made in China" sticker on the base.

The NRA has but one objective and that is your second amendment rights. They give very little thought to jobs, the economy, the national debt and such. When the NRA endorsed Harry Reid a few years back because he helped in getting a shooting range built in Nevada I knew that they
were only interested in one thing. Kind of amazing since more jobs and a better economy would probably put a few more dollars in their
coffers. What Hillary wants to do that will aid in the demise of the USA does't matter as long as we have the right to bear arms, now that
I think about it, that probably is a good thing.

I probably got the same hat when my membership recently renewed. I threw it away. They should have kept the $2.00 or less they spent on it.

Would you rather they be frugal and use the money wisely to defend the 2nd amendment? Imagine the jobs they have saved in the hunting and shooting industries in the US..

Ray

I got the same cap when I got my life time membership. I sent it back and told them to keep it. Either buy a US made cap or dont buy one at all and use all my money for the lawyers, IMO.

There is a box on the subscription form "I do not want my free gift". I check that box because I know it ain't coming from L.L.Bean.

Exactly.

I pay my dues as..... dues. I don't look at it as a product purchase.

I decline whatever hat or knife or duffle bag is the current incentive item. I want them to put all of my dues to work, in full, to fight the fight. If they need a piece of swag-bait to convince somebody else to join, fine, use the one that I don't take, if that's what it takes to get (or renew) another member.

If I feel the desire to have a hat or T-shirt, I log in to the NRA Store and buy it, unrelated to my dues payments.

I simply check the box that indicates I chose to not recieve a "gift". Don't want my money spent like that! Simple, Paul

I couldn't agree more with the sentiments above. When I became a Patron member they sent me a backpack made in China. It is sitting here all packaged up with a letter in the box expressing my feelings that they should choke on all the foreign made crap they send out. I am going to send it back to them on my dime. If I just throw it away or give it away they won't catch on. I also explain, every time they call, that I'm not giving them another dime until this stupidity stops. They are supporting companies in countries that don't believe in our freedoms. It's utterly stupid and embarrassing. I even told the person on the phone when I became a Patron member that if the free gift wasn't made in USA, to keep it.
