NRA Approves New E-Class Competition with Gun Cost Limits

There was no mention of course of fire and distance.
Similarly, KYL matches are right up there with F class guns. If you don’t have a $4000 .22LR you’re just plunking.
They’re all “rich man sports” if you want to win. Or you live on Ramen noodle soup so you can afford the gear.
I would much rather do pesting at my maple syrup farm permissions. Plus I actually get to take home some tasty squirrels.

Due to the limiting nature of this category the NRA will only offer a Marksman classification card as it does not expect anyone shooting this category to actually do any better than this.

The Boss and his April 1st jokes............

Sorry, I have to express a sense of sadness here.

I presume this was an April Fools Day joke, but it wasn’t one that I could immediately dismiss. It’s the history of NRA competition and the organization’s attitudes that makes me sad. Basically, I could talk myself into believing EITHER that this was a joking proposal from the NRA, OR that it was serious AND silly. Assuming E-Class was a real proposal, content like the final lines in the “rules” indicating that NRA wouldn’t recognize any classification above Marksman, because they assumed no one could shoot any better than that with this equipment added a believable level of arrogance in support of NRA actually being the source. On the other hand, the likelihood of this being a joke highlights the ongoing failure of NRA to effectively create the opportunity for new membership through actually offering something like a factory rifle classification.

Either way, makes this a more effective April Fools Day joke, so kudos to @Forum Boss! Still makes me sad that the believability of either option yet again highlights realities of NRA.
