Now that riflemansjournal has been down a bit..

Well that particular poster that claimed the 3000+ w/ 180s did say it was a -06AI.. as far as M14 I was just curious what he was running because that pic he posted looks like a helluva rifle!
With a 30-06AI and say, a 28 inch barrel, it might be possible to get there within pressure limits. I haven't run the numbers, but it still gives me the Heebee geebees.

I'll check my data book and get back to you!

Using 56 grs. IMR4350, Lapua cases NT to .012" and F210 primer, 185 Berger VLD Target
Fired 12 rounds from 1000 yds. and all within 5-6" group.
Have shot this load a while now and no problems with pressure/easy bolt lift.
Speed? Ain't got a clue and don't care as long as there is no pressure and it goes where I want it! Rifle has 30" Kreiger brl 1-10" twist!

That is a good load, mine is only 0.5g different @ 56.5g, though it wanders a bit depending on the burn rate of the lot I'm using. With a 30" barrel, I'm guessing you are running those in the neighborhood of 2900+fps.

An '06 AI is good to go, 180's near 3k is a walk in the park.
And their work is with a 24" barrel!
