I wipe my reamers before I start to make sure all is well. I clean them in a plastic can filled with diesel, then blow them off with air. A quick peek shows me if I have any weld areas....if so, slide the diamond up the flat side, keeping it as parallel to that surface as possible....rinse and repeat.
