I have been shooting Bergers in my .243 with great accuracy. However 98% of my shots are less than 200 yards so I decided to try some partitions out. When trying to work up a load for them I noticed that the barrel was copper fouling extremely bad near the muzzle. So bad that by the end of load testing the gun was throwing bullets everywhere. I cleaned the gun thoroughly and loaded some up last night, and sure enough after 3 shots there was a large amount of copper in the bore and by 7 shots the gun was shooting all over. I could put 50 Bergers through the gun and couldn't see even a trace of copper. Does this sound right? Its a factory gun also.
