Nosler Partition Copper fouling

I have been shooting Bergers in my .243 with great accuracy. However 98% of my shots are less than 200 yards so I decided to try some partitions out. When trying to work up a load for them I noticed that the barrel was copper fouling extremely bad near the muzzle. So bad that by the end of load testing the gun was throwing bullets everywhere. I cleaned the gun thoroughly and loaded some up last night, and sure enough after 3 shots there was a large amount of copper in the bore and by 7 shots the gun was shooting all over. I could put 50 Bergers through the gun and couldn't see even a trace of copper. Does this sound right? Its a factory gun also.

One thing that could help is to hbn coat your bullets.Sounds like your barrel has a small incremental choke in the end by or near the muzzle. What kind of gun is it,this may tell why the sierra jackets arent holding up.

Noticed the same thing with PD loads in several calibers, Noslers shoot fine, good terminal performance, but copper up quicker, coated or not.

Sorry about that meant nosler but anyway, what kind of barrel is it,factory or aftermarket. I have shot a slew of noslers with no problems in 6.5mm and 30 cal.At that time I must admit I was lightly coating with moly but now I am moving on to hbn.
