Nosler partition anyone?

Have any of you tried Nosler partitions? I just got some in and loaded up...haven't gotten to try them yet. Put a few on the scale and they are very uniform. The ones I'm trying are in .224, and if what I read is correct they are of pretty solid construction. Any experience with them?

They are about as solid as you can get unless your shooting Barnes.
I use them in small for caliber deer hunting, but not much else...
Some guns shoot them very well and others are just minute of deer..

The recent manufacture Partitions are pretty doggone accurate, despite having two bullet cores to balance. My son's 6mm Rem shoots 3-shots into about 3" at 300 yards from a bipod with the 100 grain Partitions. In the old days I was often a little disappointed in their accuracy - not anymore. I've used them on a variety of game animals up to a big 700 pound bull elk. They say that generally the front end expands very rapidly and may indeed shed most of the front end, but the back half of the bullet just keeps on penetrating. Darned if I know, I've never been able to recover one - they always exit the game. One shot with the 175 grain partition was plenty for the big bull elk. Complete penetration, and a quick kill. Pretty typical.

I doubt the Nosler Partition is going to win many accuracy contests, but it's plenty accurate enough for most big game hunting and the terminal ballistics are usually quite good.

I loaded Noslers for 35 plus years. In .243 through .375. They have been both accurate and deadly. I do deer management and have shoot a couple hundred with Noslers both partitions and their other bullets. I shoot every hunting load at or above 3000 fps. About five years ago I was introduced to the Swift line of bllets. I personally feel that I am getting better accuracy and bullet performance with the bonded bullets. They have tapered jackets and retain 95% of their weight. The Nosler Accubond may be just as good. I think with superior bonded core bullets that the partition technology has been surpassed.

You will need a 12 twist to get great accuracy with the .224 partition with the 14 twist shooting 1 1/2-2 1/2" groups.

In a 22/250, the 60g Partition will do more damage to a deer than a 30/06 with a 150g Sp.

I have a XP100 221 Fireball that I use for varmint control on our deer lease on everything from coons, gray fox and yotes to wild hogs. It shoots the 60gr partitions extremely well. I've taken hogs well over 100lbs at over 150yds and most didn't run as far as they do when shot with larger calibers.

I've used them for more than 35 years hunting and have never had one that came apart or had any problem whatsoever...about as good as a leader bullet can get...oh, 7mm mag and .338 wm...they are not benchrester but their more than accurate enough for any deer or bear you'd care to shoot..

I've recovered some 100 grainers shot from a .243. The front end expands out and the back end was always intact. Weights of recovered bullets from whitetail were almost identical. I have since switched to Berger HVLD's and a 6 Dasher for whitetail. Better accuracy and devastating results. My wife shoots the 60 grain Partitions in her .223 and they do a decent job.

I was always one to use different bullets every year for hunting big game. I have used Partitions on deer, hogs and Texas Exotics. I have never recovered a bullet. What I can tell you is: 1.) they are uniform; 2.) accurate and 3.) wreak havoc on bone and flesh. It is difficult to beat a Partition. There are some it's equal, however, only for the largest of game do you need something with more penetration and ability to stay in one piece..

I wasn't lucky enough to own a rifle that could cluster them into anything better than 1.5 MOA...sometimes worse. Good enough for hunting I guess.

Ive used partitions for years in many different calibers, accurate and deadly. I load them in my 220 swift and my daughters have never had to pull the trigger twice on many a deer.

The 6mm 95 Partition is my go to. The front core blows a gajillion secondary projectiles through the organs while the back half penetrates. Best of both worlds. Keeps my freezer happy.

Ive used them in 22 thru 30 for hunting and 375 for load w/u. For whitetails and low stress the 6mm 95 gr in a 243 is hard to beat. The few 243s Ive worked with have all done sub moa and have performed well out to 300 yds. All 1 shot, with no bullets recovered. The 375s will go to Africa if I can get back there for buff, with absolute confidence.

I have used Nosler Partitions since the late 1960's,
in all my calibers from 22 CF thru 357 calibers,
deadly and accurate for any game.

I have yet to recover any Partition bullet bullet,
from 22 - 357 calibers at ranges out to 500 yds,
broadside shots thru the ribs/lungs.

Caliber size hole in, large hole out........
with lots of damage in between.

My go to bullet for hunting...

Tia,
Don
