Northern Idaho?

Be aware that more and for liberals leaving their ruined states to the neighboring states bringing their liberal ideals with them. I love Idaho, my son lives there, we almost moved there 15 years ago. Now I am glad we did not. Look what had happened to Colorado over the years. Think hard, I hope it all works out for you.

This^^^^^. Folks show up here and the first thing they do is throw up fences and no trespassing signs. The next thing they do is start bitching about the “lack of services”. Like what... you can’t get off your tinhorn ass and take your own garbage to the green boxes?

Well then some of you guys should definitely stay in your blue states and become more and more irrelevant as you lose more and more of your rights.......

One place which has its share of former North Idaho people and is a conservative haven is Pahrump, Nevada. My uncle (formerly of Couer d' Alene) moved there several years ago and we try to get down for a while each year. WH

To hell with them Pilgrims! get ya some big ol Merican flags ta mount on the back of yer lifted truck like dem proud boys

How are you liking Montana and their winters?

Man we are nice and warm up here in the cabin” we go deer hunting Elk hunting and now I started Wolf hunting.
People are just awesome from here to Missoula, we bought a Jeep for messin around and Brother I didn’t know life could be so good...

I do know of a Berkeley California couple that said they had moved to Idaho and could not stand it. It was beyond too redneck for them and they moved back to the Bay Area near San Francisco. Don't recall the details on where they had tried to live in the Gem State.

Whoa! My good friend lived in Pahrump for a few years, but just moved to a ranch east of Payette, ID. He had his house in Pahrump broken into, and knows another guy who was a crime victim there, and found out the limited police force and DA are unable or unwilling to cope with it. Apparently there are crime rings of a certain ethnicity. I can get more details, this is from memory.

The big problem is there is hardly anywhere left to go to get away from leftists. The lib hordes just keep pouring in everywhere. I'm beginning to understand a bit how the Indians must have felt but at least the settlers improved the quality of life where they went unlike the misery and decline leftist ideas/policies cause.

I am sure that the settlers felt that they were improving things, but doubt the Native Americans felt the same way.

Chances are the newbies coming from blue states to Idaho, especially Northern Idaho, are primarily conservative like me. There are a lot of warmer weather places libs can escape to from Cali. They are flooding my area of Oregon now.....
Is it not amazing, they run from the policy’s they create, then move to a more appealing (red state) to suck up the benefits, and end up destroying that state because they cannot realize it is there social liberal politics that destroyed the last place from where they came..... These people claim to be intellectually seperior

Here's the problem with low-population rural states:

Nevada was once as red as Idaho. But 30 years ago it became the fastest growing state, and has been near the top since. Nearly all the newcomers come to either Las Vegas or Reno. Many are conservative, but not nearly enough. Many are CA retirees cashing out their older $1+ million homes and getting a much bigger new home in NV for $300k. Then in the last 10 years, young people coming for jobs - high tech in Reno (Tesla Gigafactory etc) or casinos/construction/service/tech industry in Las Vegas. And lots of latinos looking for manual labor work, and finding it in construction, landscaping, maintenance, service.

If a state had 700k population in 1990, and balloons to 3 million in 30 years, and only 60% of new arrivals are liberals, you do the arithmetic.

I grew up in Idaho, but lived through what I describe in NV since 1973. Don't tell me it isn't happening in Idaho, albeit early days, and perhaps more slowly. The Boise area is attracting many younger working folk for good paying jobs at places like Micron. It's growing like topsy, and not just conservative "refugees". Like Reno, the air and water are clear, the climate outstanding, the outdoor recreation and wilderness close by, and compared to other tech centers, cost of living is relatively low. Soon many other tech or manufacturing companies, fleeing states like CA, set up shop there because the land is affordable, they get tax breaks from local governments trying to attract industry and "diversify" the economy, and younger workers find the local environment and western lifestyle compelling. In a state like ID or NV, it only takes a couple of populous counties to dominate the politics. It won't happen overnight, but it snowballs once the migration gets going.

We've not seen any evidence of a crime problem at all. In fact, our time spent there has all been pretty positive. We do a lot of boondocking in the area. WH

Spent the last two days in the Post Falls and Spokane area. A couple inches of snow fell the morning of the day we arrived. Temps were mid-20s to mid-30s. The locals told us that was a mild winter day. It was very comfortable.

My wife likes the area and likes the houses. While I have to go farther for Salmon and Steelhead than I do now, salmon-sized trout are close by. There is a decent sized Cabela's in Post Falls and a Sportman's Warehouse in Spokane Valley.

I have come across some transplants from the West--just couldn't take the progressive policies anymore. It's interesting. Liberals seem to have no issue living in a Red State. Probably because conservatives are very willing to "live and let live" in the name of personal freedom. However, libs do not return the favor when conservatives live in a Blue State--the libs constantly work to take away the conservatives freedoms.

Anyway, we will soon see if we can make the move.

In Washoe County, NV (one of the two blue counties in NV) I saw one Trump sign for every 100 Biden signs. In my block alone 10 Biden signs, 0 Trump signs. You'd expect a massive blow-out victory for Biden, but he won the county by only 10%. Trump supporters know damn well their property or vehicle will be vandalized if they display a Trump sign or sticker. If you tell a Democrat that, they say "That's a lie. Show me the proof."

Still some on the ground south of Spokane and was indeed a mild day. Ran to Post Falls yesterday, nice to see sun instead of the gray cloud cover where we live, had hopes the sun might have peeked through, but no, still gray when I got home.

There are landlocked Chinook in Coeur d'Alene Lake, and big 'bows and Kamloops in Pend Oreille, but I fish this side of the border, and north, chasing smaller, but prime, rainbow in Lake Roosevelt. I consider it one of the top trout fisheries, if not THE top, in the state. I readily admit I'm biased. :)

Btw, there's also a Sportman's Warehouse in North Spokane.

Have been a WA resident since '67 when my dad got stationed at McCord. I, too, chose a career in the USAF and when I got orders to Fairchild in 1990, we knew this was where we would plant roots for the future. Sometimes hard to believe it's been 30 years.

I rarely go to Bass Pro (aka Cabelas). I drive right on buy on my way to Black Sheep in CDA. The best reloading supply store in the area by far. Having said that, I was there last Saturday and all the common powders, primers and ammo were gone. Even the gun supply was low. Pretty much how it looks everywhere these days.

I'd like to hear more about the Rainbows at Roosevelt. Where do you go and what do you use?
