Norma Vs Lapua- loads

All:

I know that Lapua brass is the standard for 6BR, but I was able to geet some Norma brass at a good price.

In the 308, if you want to shoot Winchester brass you just increase your Lapua load by .5 grains and you are good to go. Is there a similar comparison for Norma Vs Lapua 6BR brass?

I am shooting a 107 Nosler(will be hybrids shortly) with N-140 powder and Fed 205M primer. Load right now is 29gr, when I was up near 30 I would get ejector marks.

If you have shot both brass types and have some comparisons I would appreciate the help.

I shoot Norma brass. Got a bunch at a killer price and have been shooting for years. I can interchange between Dougs, Ricks and my ammo with the same accuarcy and no issues. All rifles chambered with the same reamer.
My load is 29.5 Varget 105VLD in the lands CCI450 primer. Hybrids .005 off the lands same load. A little faster lot of Varget Than my first 8lb jug of it which I shot 30gr's.

See you this summer.

I have used Norma brass in many different cartridges. One thing I have noticed is they have soft case heads vs Lapua.

You can generalize if you want but I have 15 firings on my 6BR brass with no loose pockets... Not all cartridges are the same.
Kinda like Women... ha!

I can't offer powder charge variation between Lapua & Norma yet since I'm in early stages of load development........... I can offer this: My Norma brass has VERY tight primer pockets compared to Lapua. Also, primer pockets were too shallow to allow BR-4's to be seated below case head. Had to ream them all. Neck walls ran .014"+ compared to Lapua at a very consistent .0125" so I had to turn necks to give me sufficient clearance ( I like .003" clearance) for my .271" neck chamber. Maybe my lot of Norma was odd ball but, I won't be buying any more of it just to find out. ::)

I've also found the Norma brass to be softer overall than Lapua. But Norma necked up just fine and shoots just as well in my 30BR. The Norma brass also shoots very well in my .308 Benchrest Rifle (yes its a Bench gun).

I shot BOTH Lapua and Norma in my "old" 6.5 x 284. It is my "hot so humble opinion" on the Norma brass that it is the equal of, IF NOT the superior of, Lapua brass... I know, it is NOT "provable" per se.. However, I have used Norma brass extensively in the 6.5 x 284, 308, and 6mm Rem>>>Necked down 7Mauser brass... ALL EXCELLENT stuff..

mgdietrich, As to my Lapua vs. Norma 6BR brass comments I would be interested to know if you find your Norma brass measured the same as mine.......... If you'd be so kind, drop me a PM. I'd sure appreciate. Thanks, Dale
