Norma 6Dasher Brass

Can u give us some Spec's on how it compares to lapua brass? And how it should work in chamber's now in use?

T 700

Shiraz, just out of curiosity. If you sell the entire lot of 500,000, will you be having Norma run another batch to satisfy future orders?

Thanks,
Joe

Of course - there will be no shortage once the sea shipment comes in. I have already discussed that with them and they are keeping a production line open for us. Not only that, I will be removing the 1000 limit when the sea shipment arrives.

I foresee the Dasher becoming even more popular thanks to your efforts!

Shiraz's statement from earlier...............

"
We have ordered the reamers for this new brass and the Model Number on that is T10902. It is made by Dave Kiff at Pacific Tool and Gauge and we will have these in stock probably before the brass shows up.

This reamer will have an overall length of 1.605" so you guys can trim to suit. Dave has indicated that this reamer will be exclusive to us so you can simply contact www.bullets.com. If you call them, they will refer to us. The model number above should be live on our site by the end of the day, and the reamer is called "6mm Dasher Norma"

Thanks."

Anyone thinking about simply cutting their norma brass to max length based on their current reamer? In my case, 1.56"? So I would cut them to about 1.550-1.555".

It does seem like a waste to cut almost 0.050" off the neck though because I think that is a great neck length.

It will be nice to be able to test various Dasher neck lengths with the Norma brass to see if a it makes any difference on paper.
I don't think it will show any more accuracy on paper but where it will make a difference is barrel life. It would help to shift the TP point. That would make it more like the neck on a 6 BR and easier on the throat. Matt

We shall see.............

I have a Brux 1 in 7.83 coming to chamber with the 1.6" OAL.

100 pcs. of brass for that, the other 100 pcs. will be turned to 1.55 to run in the other chamber.

The 1.55 chamber will be first.

Phil.

I am new to the dasher world. If I buy this new norma brass and the reamer to go along with it. Where do I get dies that will work with this set up.
Thanks for the info in advance.

I see no reason standard dies like Reddings will not work. This is basically the same dimensions many of us have been using except the neck itself is longer. I prefer a custom die to my chamber and have a Whidden die in 6 Dasher.

Did you go with the Dasher die on Whidden's site or did you send him cases to make a fully custom one? Also, did you go with bushings or not?

Thanks,
Terry

I sent fired brass. Sending fired brass ensures that the die will match your chamber dimension in order that you are not working the brass more than is needed. I like bushing dies.

Im usually the experimenter type but this time im just gonna watch. Hard to beat lapua brass and its equally as tuff to cut half the neck off of norma brass hoping its as good as a cheaper, known combo. But im glad shiraz is doing it.

I ordered 200 cases and a reamer this monring. My daughter's 6BR is still shooting superbly but I have some visible dark spots in the first 1/2" of the throat at 500 rounds. If the borescope shows eclusions and I actually made it onto the first round of the delivery, we may be setting it back and rechambering.
