Norma 6.5mm 130gr HP Match Bullets

I'm wondering if anyone has shot these projectiles? Norma 6.5mm, 130gr HP Golden Target,Match) projectiles, thats a mouthful and a half! http://www.norma.cc/content.asp?Typ=28&Lang=2&DocumentID=34&Submeny=4&Rubrik=Components&Title=Norma%20Match%20Bullets#

Norma,Swedish) make the projectiles for the European market as this is a popular caliber for competition. Its BC,0.548) is near identical to Berger's 130gr VLDs and over here in Oz they are much cheaper to buy.

I'm betting they would suit my 6.5x47L as an almost drop in replacement for the Bergers. I would like to hear from anyone who has used them.

In my search for a non-Berger 130, bought 2 boxes of 500 Norma 130's last summer. Gave them one heck of a test with several powders and primers. Still have one box. Was very impressed with super nice, sharp meplats and good measurements, but could not get them to work with any repeatability in my 8 twist 6.5L.

My old barrel in 260 shot them well, the jury is still out on the new barrel. The weights seem to vary more then Lapua or Berger but I think they are worth a try.

I checked on 6mmhot.com and they mention that the Norma 130gr needs a lot of free bore.

'Norma 130 VLD - 2.720' OAL - This bullet has a very long bearing surface and the free bore could be longer,.175' to .180' would be ideal) since the junction of the boat tail and bearing surface of the bullet appears to be right at the junction of the neck and shoulder of the case when the bullet touches the lands.'

My barrel is chambered with 0.159' free bore so I might not bother buying a box to check. They appear to be beautifully made and finished but made to fit 6.5x55, pity!

The Norma 130 Diamond line and naked variety shoot as good or better in my 260 as the 130 Bergers. The throat can be shorter for the Normas than the Bergers.

They are strictly a target bullet, they don't perform on game like the thin jacketed Bergers do.

I used these bullets extensively across the course in my Rifle chambered in 6.5xc about 4 years ago. I used H4350 , 40 GRS.) with good results, velocities at 2810- 2820 fps. I jumped 'em .015 but .020 worked as well. The major diameter of this bullet will get to the lands before most of the others will. I did some B.C. tests at 300 yards with two Oehlers and the sierra software and came up with .545 . Scott Medesha did some testing at 600 yds. two years earlier and reported a .577 BC. However I could not get them to shoot reliably below 2800 . In fact I saw nothing between 2700 and 2780 fps that worked . Furthermore, I shot them on top of Lapua jackets which I had used at 300 yards and noticed that it took the barrels a good 5 rounds to settle in . That issue always cost me points at the beginning of the string at 600. I quit using them because of that reason. Norma was not exporting another bullet for use at 200/300 so I gave up on them. By themselves I think they are good to go but definitely finicky.

I put them all through 8 twist Kreigers chambered in 6.5xc which is very close to your 6.5x47L.
