No More Russian Primers?

Seems Powder Valley's gotten word Tulammo will no longer be importing Murom Plant primers (from another forum today):

"PV answered my email saying they will not be getting any more from the Tula factory.
Edit: In follow up email they said Tula will not be importing the primers in the US."

So if you use 'em & can still find 'em, don't take a pass thinking they'll be there next time.

That’s been going on for quite a while i.e. back to September. It’s all part of that sanction against Russia. I’ve not seen any for quite a while. Would love to buy some more but….

if you are quick http://www.powdervalleyinc.com/ is the last place I know of that still has BERDAN primers by Tula (Murom). These are wonderful for the 6.5x55 berdan brass...

Here is a location for Wolf primers. I love these things.

Bryan,
Thank you for the heads up. I had been looking to no avail, and was going to leisurely start testing other primers for a replacement load this week. Now I don't need to, at least for a while.

Yes, most everybody thinks so. All are labeled as from Murom Plant in Russia; only difference has been packaging. Bought by the case of 5,000 the outer cardboard wrap will have the exact same source and product code between brands while the importer address may change.

Ya think the Russians are gearing up for some heavy action in the Middle East ?

Remember during the Vietnam fracas things got a bit tight here.

A guy in the AR15 forums has lots of primer study information (high speed photos, velocity variance info, etc). He says that they're the same primer compound by a different anvil.

Also, these primers are similar to federal primers. Most applications you want a magnum primer otherwise they're too sensitive.

I've had very great results with Tula SRM. Thank goodness I have a stash.

As it stands I'll most likely "run out of years" before I run out of primers, or powder and bullets for that matter.
