No more Dick's sporting goods store for me

The only reason the lefties/antis are getting anywhere is because they are "louder" than the quiet, mind our own business types. If we are going to win this "war of words" we have to get LOUDER! IMHO. It's like a bunch of babies in a nursery; the LOUDEST one gets the titty....human instinct maybe. These "logical" debates are worthless in this battle, but a LOUD voice will gett what it wants.

The left will always have the louder voice because they own the news media which has become nothing more than a propaganda machine bent on pushing an agenda rather than reporting the truth.

I get that, but we can email politicians and tweet and what else? I for one am not giving up I don't care the odds. We need to use what we have, get creative, and let them know THEY are in a battle and in the end win or lose, THEY will KNOW they've been in one.

You now have to be 21 years of age to buy guns or ammo at Walmart. How many shop at Harbor Freight and Walmart?

Not really a big deal never purchased much from DICK's "OVERPRICED" I'm not sure how they stay open when you go by the store at the mall very few cars in the parking lot. But to the point my family will never purchase another thing from DICK's. Don't think it will influence their bottom line as they most likely do not sell very many guns anyway. Kinda like DELTA airlines "OVERPRICED" and rarely flew them, SOUTHWEST is the airline to fly. Not trying to nickle and dime'in ya to death. I never heard of anyone stating they purchased a gun at DICKS. Yes most purchase from Cabela's, Gander Mtn., Sportsmans W., BassPro,. Your local gunstore vs. big box better to keep the taxes in your local area and feed the locals.
Us local gunstores appreciate it:D
Haven't graced the doors of Dick's since 2012.
Haven't been in a Wally World in over 3 years.
JRS, what's the deal with Harbor Freight? (Besides everything there is from China) Enlighten me.

Their contributions go to the DNC.

Where I live on Long Island, Dicks is the only reliable place to get shotshells at a decent price. Wally World sometimes has them, but they dropped Remington or Remington Dropped them so it is always the lower quality Winchesters there, while Dick's usually has Winchester, Remington, Rios and a few others. Was never a place I even considered though to buy a rifle or shotgun.

Academy Sports has 21 as a min. age to buy AR's for some time, as least in our area. Wonder what Dicks will do when someone age 22 buys a firearm they still sell (maybe a BAR) and goes on a shooting rampage? Raise the age to 23 or 25 and quit the selling just the BAR's? Noticed they stated they are "strong supporters of the 2nd Amendment". Sounds more like the piecemeal surrender of British firearms.
This has happened before with large companies. Sears, Montgomery Wards, Woolworths and other large stores got out of the gun business when it looked politically correct back in the 70's. A lot of this business eventually went to large sporting good chains that have emerged since. May not be long before large sporting goods companies sell everything but guns. Might want to support your LGS, if you can find one, as they are an endangered species these days -- hard to make a living out of just guns and ammo without selling all the high markup other stuff the large chains do.

We got a new one here in town about 2 years ago, I took the boy to check it out.

We walked in, checked a few things out, looked at the pricing / selection, walked out, never to return.....

I HATE doing this to sporting goods stores, but I just couldn't pay the prices they are asking for, not worth it in my book.....

Another one to add to the growing list: Fred Meyer (Kroger) will no longer sell guns or ammo to anyone younger than 21 years of age.

The big problem with public perception of AR's has been the media's attempt to blur the distinction between what we have and what the military has -- full autos. Somewhere I read that Dicks stated they could no longer sell the public the same weapon as the military uses. They are either pretty dumb about rifles or they are deliberately helping with this image about civilian rifles being the same as military ones. Don't know of any nation arming their forces with semi-auto rifles for a long time now.
