No bounce cup?

Hey Guys, happy Thanksgiving! Does anyone make a cup (with similar dimensions as the one that comes with the FX120i) that the kernels don't bounce out of.

I know Varget resembles Flubber on a bad day. However in the age of 3D printers and "soft" plastics something has to be available.

6 of one, half dozen of another vs the original cup.

On my setup the cup barely fits under the drop tube. So it's not the height of the cup.
I think a cup made from a softer material might be the answer.

Takes some really bouncie stuff to get out of a container dropped as described .
Maybe it has some help?
Take a few grains and drop them on a grounded plate. High high do they bounce.

I solved the problem with an easy fix if you have a lathe or a buddy with one.
First, I did away with the factory 5" diameter platen. I was tired of finding errant kernals on the platen after powdering 50-100 pieces of brass. Now my modified platen is a hair smaller in diameter than the cup that came with the V4. ANY kernals that might escape the cup land on the plate which is under the platen and have no effect on the weighing process of the V4.
I made the new platen out of aluminum which is .900" thick. This positions the cup just under the dump funnel that comes with the V4.
The original plastic plate that the large factory platen sat on was cut down th fit under the new aluminum platen and mounted with a couple of drops of super glue.
Problem solved!

I made my own cup for the Fx120i. I didn't like the heavy glass cup, I wanted the cup as light as possible. Also by making it out of metal, there are no static electricity problems.
I bought the stainless steel shot cups from Amazon, (70ml size).
I cut the height down to just fit under the spout.
I soldered a handle of scrap metal to it.


i recommend you place the cup under the spout so the powder hits the side of the cup, or as close to the side as possible. This means the "splash" of powder will run across the bottom, and not bounce kernels out of the cup. The cup being as tall as possible also keeps the kernels in. This cup does not splash out kernels in my Fx120i.

Proper positioning of the oem shot glass will eliminate your problem. Powder should hit the side and fall down not the bottem.

That's neat. I thought modding the factory Plant' was a no no though?

It hits the side, right before it heads for lower orbit.

Great ideas listed so far. I think the idea is to shorten the drop distance from a diffused drop tube to the bottom of the vessel. Either raise the vessel, have the powder hit the side of the vessel, or extend the tube. Very annoying to have thrown kernels!

Ok guys found a solution to my problem.
I found a STL file for a cup. The bottom isn't flat. Rather it's convex almost to a point. With a little scaling it fits perfectly under my drop tube.
50 drops and not 1 kernal bounce out!

I'll stick with the gold one I printed. It's working flawless so far.

Do you have the actual STL file for this or a link to it? I have the super trickler with a wind screen and I tried the glass cups. They are too high for my situation. I like the idea of being able to print my own and change the height to fit.
