Nitried Rem 700

I was going to have my stainless actions nitride by H&M. I was advised by the tech, that since Rem 700 bolts have the bolt heads and handles brazed, he was concerned about the heat involved on the bolt itself. Action was OK, but not sure on the bolt. I know there is a great looking Rem action here for sale that H&M had done and it looks great.

I would love to have it done, but my actions have been barreled now. I would not want the Brux barrels nitride finish. If I knew for sure it would not damage anything, I would do the entire barreled action, but not willing to chance a accurate set up.

Still have the issue with the bolt head being soldered on. Unless it is threaded first then soldered.

On a 700, ive had several nitrided never a problem some with bolt handle soldered and some welded.
Might as well fix primary extraction first though.
H@m never even asked me about the soldered handles

What is involved in the primary extraction, I never noticed the extraction issue on my 700's and who does the bolt welding.

There are several even members here do it.use the search you will find them or Google.
RR actions are the worse.
