Nikon scopes?

Was just wondering if anyone has tried out any of the Nikon Pro Staff scopes? I have Elite 4200's and Leupold Vari-X III's on my rifles and was wondering how they compare...From what I seen at the range...the Nikon Omega Muzzleloading scope was pretty impressive for $250.

Unknown on Prostaff but I have two Buckmasters,4x14 and 6x18) that are by far my best bang-for-buck scopes. I also own 4200s, SSs, Leupolds, and a bunch of vintage Weavers. Right now when I need a new scope, Nikon gets first look.

I to don't have experience with the pro-staff scopes. I now have 5 Nikon's, 3 Monarchs and 2 Buckmasters.Over the years I've had a few Leupold vx2's and vari-x 1s never any upper end Leupolds. From my experience I'll go with the Nikon's 1st. The repeatability of the 6-24 monarch on my 6BR is fantastic.

I sold my 6.5-20 monarch to a budy and replaced it with a 6.5-20vxIIILR and have regreted it ever since the nikon had superior glass and tracked as good as either nigtforce or weaver ive ever owned. Nikon's clame to fame is high quality camera lenses so they know all about opticle clarity and it shows. now with a 8-32 with side focus and 1/8 min adj im thinking of putting one on my ppc.,10oz lighter than night force BR!)

I've been using a 6.5/20 Nikon Monarch on my long-range rifle for several years and found it is as good as any Leupold. The glass is exceptional and it repeats to zero every time. I think it's the best bang for the buck out there.

I do not have any experience with the pro staff Nikon's, I have had one Nikon Monarch 6.5/20 that came with a used rifle i bought the scope was fine, but did not seem to have the low light gathering ability as either my 6.5-20vxIIILR or 8.5-25vxIIILR when used in the early morning or evening. This was in the Field calling coyotes. It dang sure could have been my eyes to:crazy: but other than that I agree the bet bang for the buck. Nikon.

i had a prostaff but gave it to my father-in-law cuz i had a savage 7mm mag and didn't have enough eye relief. my dad has one on his remington 700 mountain rifle 7mm-08 and i used it this year. shoots great and my dads even a not so good shot. i think they are just as good as buckmasters, without the side focus. if u r looking for a good hunting scope for the money i highly recommend it. i also have two other nikons. a 4.5-14 and a 6-18. luv them. i want to get an new 8-32 monarch for my bench gun.

I have 2 pro-staff 3-9x40's. One on my 308 deer rifle and one on my 12ga slug gun. They handle the slug gun recoil with no problem. For $150 they may just be the best deal going in that price range.

Last week I shot a deer with one. Saw it right at dark, and it really surprised me how well I could see thru it since at 100yds you could barely see the deer without the scope. With it though it added alot of light in and made the shot no problem.

I also have a Buckmaster 4.5-14 and a 6-18 and like them too.

They dont really compare to my Vortex Viper 6.5-20 or my Elite 4200 6-24, but these two are also 3x the cost and I use them for a different reason.

I'll recommend them for a deer gun or short yardage varmint gun. For longer shots you may want more magnification. I really wish the pro-staff came in a 4-12.

Have Nikon Prostaff 3x9x50mm on a Remington700 SPS 7mm 08 and I love it. Good Eye Relief, good Light Transmission, & very clear.Good scope for the money.

I have a nikon pro staff 3-9x40 on my ruger compact 7-08. When I bought it I wanted a Zeiss but lacked the funding. Getting the less expensive nikon was a blessing in disguise. It was clearer and gave me better low light visability than the Zeiss could have. My hunting partner had the Zeiss conquest and he tried to get me to swap. I want to get a nightforce or schmidt and bender when I find my tack driving 243 long range predator gun but Ill just end up a victim of wifeacide.
