Hello,
Well, finally looking to bite the bullet and pony up some $$$ for a Nightforce scope... probably should have done it several years back, but what the heck...
Primary uses for the scope will be load development,of course!), NRA HP Prone Any/Any matches, sling w/ scope, often @ 1k following a Palma match), and F-Class.
I'm leaning very hard towards a BR model because 1) cheaper, 2) front focus instead of side, finer adjustment possible from what I've heard/seen), & 3) 1/8 minute clicks, since the new F-Class target has that little 1/2 minute X-ring.
Unfortunately this limits my reticle choices considerably over what is available in an NXS model. For some god-forsaken reason NF doesn't offer the CH reticles in the BR model scopes?!? It does look like a person can 'upgrade' a given model w/ any reticle they want... though the $150-180 price tends to eat into the lower cost of a BR model. Specifically the CH3 or CH2 reticles are looking pretty attractive for what I want to do. Ranging and huge hold-offs aren't really in the cards for what I want to do w/ this particular scope. I do have other guns that would probably benefit from a MLR or NP-R1 reticle, just not this one.
Any suggestions, comments, experiences to share?
TIA,
Monte
