Nightforce optics discount for veterans

I wouldn't send a copy of my DD214 because it has too much personal information. Neither would I send a copy of my ID card, same reason plus I believe it is against regulations. However, each company accepted my LEOSA card and VFW membership as proof. Some companies will take your word for your service.

I think it has to do with which NF product your looking at.. I was looking at high end f class scope. Other scopes may have better discounts.

I've purchased scopes from NF, Sightron, and Leupold under their military discount program with substantial savings. I think NF and Sightron were 30% and Leupold 25% check their web site to be sure. Shipping was very reasonable too.

Nightforce is 20% off. My son signed up yesterday

Maybe I am a little to aggravated at the whole thing.

I am not active military, I am not retired military. I was dragged away kicking and screaming some 56 years ago. I was drafted. My Service Number prefix was US. I did my two years and never asked them for anything since.

The only thing I have that shows my service is my DD-214 and some pictures of me in uniform.

I was never issued a card, an ID, or anything else.

My DD -214 was good enough for Lowe’s and Home Depot.

I guess I can write to the Dept of the Army and see about getting some type of ID card. Or maybe the Veterans Administration.

Just have it added to your driver license. Most states have a Veteran designation. That's acceptable for Nightforce.

I had zero issues getting a nice discount from NF. I will continue to take advantage of their veteran discount while it lasts. I have concerns they will pull it at some point because there are vets out there who use the discount, then turn around and sell the new unused scope for a profit. That seriously violates the spirit of the program and pisses me off. Same thing goes for guys who tell other people what the discount actually is. NF doesn't want us to do that, so I keep it to myself like I was asked to do.

Take your 214 to a VA center and get a VA ID card - after being retired from active duty I couldn't sleep at night - I thought I was bullet proof - I guess 20 years as an EOD tech finally got to me. Long story short you are not bullet proof and at some time you may need some help - the VA will help. If you need more information PM me.

Update to this older thread. I emailed NF this week with my DL to verify my veteran status and got a reply back that they now use Expert Voice as an agent for this. Sign up and they verify your status and then select Nightforce. There are many other scope companies listed too. Thank you Nightforce for the discount.

Back in 1962 I enlisted in the Marines. Flunked the physical and later flunked the Army one also.

That was two misses. Missed the Vietnam war and missed all the veterans' discounts. Those two "misses" had a lifetime influence on me.

I promise you no one who signed on the line with the Marine Corps during VV Era or any other time ever had a thought about a discount. Your bonus/discount was coming back alive in a whole piece.
