Nightforce optics adjustment problem

Hello

Can any owners of a nightforce br 12-42x56 confirm that when zeroed at 100meters there is only like 7MOA's left in height adjustment even though total adjustement range is around 40MOA's?

My equipment is Remington 700 in MAK XC tubegun, badger MAX50high rings and a Nightforce 12-42x56.

This probably works fine with a 25MOA rail but i find it odd that its zeroed that high or does nightforce mean that a 25MOA base is mandatory?

Ok, i have to check with another scope to see if i see the same issue. I also noticed that the paralax ring is not tuned that very well. When sighting at 100meters the ring has to be on the 75 mark to be sharp and at 1000meters around the 300mark.

I also have some cosmetic issues where the reticle is not centered. You could see a gap in right and lower squares compared to the rings. This is of course not important to the accuracy but annoying.

This is still quite an expensive scope in Sweden and i somehow expected more from it.

My parallax ring isn't accurate either on my 12-42 BR. I simply took a very fine artist brush and put a corresponding number of tiny white dots using white fingernail polish on it at the various yardages I shoot. For example two dots for 200, three dots for 300, etc. I ignore the factory marks and just use my own.

One thing I've noticed between my BR and NXS models is if I set the parallax at 12 power on the BR then zoom to 42 the image remains clear. On the NXS side focus however if I set the parallax at 12 power then zoom to 42 the image is terrible so I have to readjust the side focus again. Not that big of a deal but strange nevertheless. Can anyone explain this?
