This thread is quite a surprise to me. I compared my 12-42X56 Nightforce side by side with a Swaorvski z5 5-25X52 and a Bushnell Elite 6500 4 1/2-30X50. I paid for all three with my money so I had no axe to grind when comparing them. For me neither z5 nor the 6500 were in the same league as the Nightforce. That includes the ability to see detail close or far and low light performance.
When one spends more on a Swarovski than he spends on a Nightforce, one expects better performance. I sent the first Swaro back and purchased another. Same thing. Maybe the z6 would be better, but it is going the wrong direction for weight.
By the way, the Swarovski z5 5-25X52 has never been mounted and is for sale. I want $1,299 plus mail.
