Night force scope

Wrong. Every NF I returned was for tracking issues. All scopes can have this problem. This is a fake news statement. I ran 4 GEs for several years shooting multiple distances, never had an issue. Does this mean Vortex never fails in this issue. Of course not. All manufactured products experience failures, Same with all brands.
Between NXS, NX8, and ATACR I have ten NF scopes and never had a single issue with any of them. Now, does that mean they're infallible, no, and I'm sure someone somewhere has had an issue with their NF scope, someone somewhere always have issues with anything, but I never said they were infallible.

Please tell me who's scope/s you think track better and have a reputation to hold zero better than a NF?

I still would like to have one, but Sightron has worked for my budget.

I have had neither issue with GEs or SVEDs over the last half dozen years. I did not get down on NF because I had to send one back twice but because of how handled the returns. It was my fault for not using their rings, I did not know how to mount a scope, there was nothing wrongn with it. Sonny, I was mounting scopes before you started making dirty diapers. I like the optics of their scopes, loved my several 12x42 BRs. I can see well out ot their Competition but I don't care for the short eye box.

I have a NXS 8 x 32 NF to put on my 22 CM new built but damn it adds a lot of weight. Is there other options out there that would be lighter & won’t break the bank ? Probably not huh !!
Maybe depends on your use. I used to put heavy, big objective scopes on my hunting rifles as that was what I was used to for targets. Got really tired of lugging them around. On one, I replaced with a Nightforce Compact. Took darned near a pound off the rifle as I recall. It will break the bank the same as what you now have. might look at, and compare weights on the Swarovski, Valdada and even the never Leupolds - again - depends on use. For good targets - not many options I'd rely on that cost less than what you have.

I have (18) NF NXS 5.5-22x56 scopes and (2) NF BR scopes mounted on my rifles.
I have been using NF scopes for 20 years and have never had a tracking issue or any other issue that required a return to NF for service.
While I agree that any manufacture's product can have an issue. I simply never have with any of my vast collection of NF scopes.

BTW....This a non paid product endorsement.....:D:D

Like you, I have never had to send in a NF scope for warranty work. But, two friends have had to send theirs in and it was a very unpleasant experience. Too say the least. Not good considering what they paid for a premium product.

Had good friend that had to send in an NXS 8-32x56 because his dog knocked his gun over and broke the sunshade threads off in the bell. He called ahead, NF said send it in, we might have to charge you for a sunshade. Two weeks later it shows back up in his mailbox, disassembled, inspected, reassembled, repurged, new inspection sticker, new sunshade, with documentation, free of charge. This was about two years ago.

I bought the same scope, it’s been great. Tracking is perfect.

They're on Closeout for, $389.00 ( Scheel's Price, is $749.00 ) and FFP is, $449.00 while they, Last !

Good for your friend. Mine were not so lucky. One was returned still broken, the other received a bill for $600.00. Great service, not. Disappointing is what it is for them. I have my last Nightforce, a nice NXS 5.5 X 22 X 50. There won't be any more.

That is very disappointing Paul. I understand the frustration.

I guess I have been lucky - or perhaps you were very unlucky. I started using the Nightforce scopes maybe 25 years ago and own a number of them, ranging from the Competition, the NXS, Compact, etc.). I started out using them on my benchrest rifles, then moved them onto my varmint rifles that I shoot the most, even having one on my little .17 HMR which cost 1/4 the cost of the scope. I have never had tracking issues with any of them - or any other problem. A few of them have some pretty big dings in them and one, a broken piece off the eyepiece from many years of field abuse and (gad!) dropping them from the shooting table or when my tripod blew over in strong wind. Never a hiccup. I also shoot a lot of Sightron scopes and I can say the Nightforce scopes, being more stoutly built, take those dumps much better..... But even the lighter-build Sightrons keep on ticking. The last scopes I used that I quit using due to having too many problems were Leupold. While the warranty is great, that does you little good in the middle of a hunt. Those problems had to do with internal fogging mostly. Perhaps the newer models are much better. Of the more expensive scope I own, the only ones I recall having tracking error were with March and Swarovski scopes.
