Night Force Scope

Need some help on reticule for 12-42 NSX Night Force Scope, I like the side focus adjustment on the NSX, the competition model has the focus adjustment on the objective lens. I was interested in the C-3 which is fine cross hair with a illuminated dot, however I have been advised you can loose the dot. Now I am looking at the NP-2DD, most of my shooting will be at 100-200 yards. What is best out there from you guys that shoot .050!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! or do you have another preference?
Thank you for your help.

I'm no BR shooter by far but I do shoot quite a bit. I have,2) of the NXS 12 - 42 X 56 with the DD reticle. I shoot from 100 yds. to 600 yds. and I would have to say as much as I like the mil dot system, I like the DD better. With a 200 zero holding on the top dot, I can be on the money at 500 and 600 yds. using the bottom dot with only a few clicks either way for which ever distance I am shooting. I have one of the scopes on a 6 X 47 Shehane and the other on a .308 FNH SPR. I am working with the .308 somewhat still because I just took that scope off of a 6.5 X 284 but it worked well on that rifle too. Just an opinion. Bill

I like the NP-2DD so much that all 7 of my scopes have that reticle in them.
I started to swap out the reticles right after the first time shooting with one if them.
I just shoot varmints with them seriously and play on paper sometimes when the varmints are sleeping.......
