Nicest Shooting Ranges in America

Kelbly's range is a great as are the ranges at the Whittington Center. The Benchrest range there has 75 benches spaced to a 200 yard firing line. There is something like 9 feet center to center of the benches. Another great range is the one at St. Louis. Below shows the famous afternoon wind at Raton.

James, the wide spacing is good except when rotating benches. It will wear your azz out!

I was just there friday. 200yds max on rifle- very strict rules even for the paper you put on their frame and no windflags. Wooden benches too. Skeet and trap are a screaming deal though.

Ridgway Rifle Club, Ridgway,Pa. reasonable price to join, great people, 32 benchs at 1000 yard line,200 yard range, handgun range and a 22 range. And beautiful country in north central Pennsylvania! Google Ridgeway rifle club for more information if interested.

The Whittington Center in Raton, NM is definitely worth checking out.
Whittington has some silhouette ranges in case you want to try that. I don’t know if they are only for competition but I think anyone can stand them up and knock them down. I didn’t get to try that when I was there but it looks like fun. I have not been to any of the other places listed in this thread, but Whittington is really nice and has some nice cabins you can rent too. I wish it wasn’t over 800 miles from my house.

I’m partial but here’s Tri-County Gun Club in Sherwood, Oregon. It’s my home range and where I’m discipline chair for the 600yd group. We shoot under cover off raised prone platforms and also have the option for bench shooting as well. We use Shotmarkers and are fortunate to have 62 fun matches a year along with a summer and winter league.

My range at my Buddies ranch next door!
Targets out to 2000+, plus a crapload of
"reactive" targets
I would say there in nothing like shooting in your own back yard,,,and especially with your best shootin buddy,,,mine is only 200 yd but the bench is ~50' from my porch !!,,,,RogerIMG_0843.JPGIMG_0220.JPG
