Had a new shooter, Robert Gerometta over late Sunday evening. He brought his 25-06 Robert Daly with a custom barrel by Tim Hewitt. Robert did very well with the Hornady 117 gr factory ammo. He shot a very nice group at 800 yards on the plate and I believe he hit Ole Chuckie at least once. I had given him a "I Shot the DOME" decal a few months back and he said now he could put the sticker in his truck window.
I had put my NF BEAST from Accurate Shooter classifieds on my back-up 284 win from THUD in Dallas, Tx. SS Viper with Robertson F-Class. It has a used barrel that I bought from the Accurate Shooter.com classifieds. I am still working up a load for it. Yesterday I backed my load down another half gr. I took a shot at the 800 yard plate and thought I went over the top. So I adjusted the scope down a couple of MOA and took aim at Ole Chuckie. First shot hit. Now I went back to the big plate and shot a 3 shot group with two different loads. One was a half gr lighter. The lighter load shot a slightly smaller group at 800. Next Robert and Shayne took a few shots with the EAGLE and I decided to try Chuckie again. First shot threw up so much dust I could not tell if it was left or right but so close I made no adjustment. I fired again and had a hit. Next shot hit. Third shot hit. Nice little mickey mouse group center gut. I told the guys to watch Chuckie's head and fourth shot laid Chuckie back with a neck or head shot. Four straight including head shot on ground hog at 800 yds and I told the guys I had my load.
I wanted to try the 1430 yd 18 in. plate. I had 5 shells left. We set up and I had concerns about being able to see the splash as it was getting very dark. Shot one was very close and I easily saw the splash. Shayne set up his rifle to spot. Shot two was very close just under. Shot three just over at 12 o'clock. Shot four shook the plate but it was too dark to see where the shot was on the plate. The wind was still gusting very strong and I was very happy with a hit in the wind that was still blowing strong. I let Robert shoot the last shell so he could say he had tried a 1400 yd shot but it was so dark we could not see his splash.
3 shots in gut and one head shot on 4 consecutive shots at 800 yds

Shot #4 at 1430 yards
