I hope I am not being taken out of context in this post. I posted what I paid for a few Impact actions, never once did I say they were the best. I did say they worked for me, that is all. Defiance works for me also.
As for people buying products in the sport they choose to participate in, they buy products from companies supporting their fun. 3 gun & PRS are prime examples, if there is more of "A" product on the prize table than "G's" product, product A generates more noise.
5-6 years ago you did not want to mention on Snipers Hide that you were shooting any brand barrel other than Bartlien, because they were the major barrel sponsor of that style of shooting. Today not so much.
If I get into BR shooting, a Bat action will be my first buy, until then, sorry, but I do not have much use for one.

BAT makes Tactical actions as well. Benchrest level machining paired with Tactical style integral lugs and scope rails with mag wells tailored for dbm...why wouldnt the PRS guys have a look? BAT has already proven to the world for many years that rifles build on their platforms produce world record accuracy. Just sayin.

My friend David Tubb told me the story of the 6.5 Creedmore.

He knows the dates and all the players and the year that the Creedmore guys shared a condo at Camp Perry with the Hornady guys. He won the Nationals that year with his brand new 6XC (1988?). Creedmore wanted a 6.5 version, so they knocked it off and called it the 6.5 Creedmore.

Now the 6 Creedmore has eclipsed the 6.5 Creedmore, so we are right back to a nearly exact copy of the 6XC invented by David Tubb, the true wellspring of shooting engineering.

I do not have an answer for that question, I only keep track of what I buy, and close friends. I don't care what anyone shoots myself, and I do not try push my choices on others. Except beer, when I drank and you came to my garage to drink some, you got Bud Light, you had no choice unless you brought your own.
Maybe it is the sponsorships, if Defiance and Impact certs rule the prize tables, well, they are getting the most exposure.
If your TV service provider only allowed dodge pickup commercials and no others to come into your house, sooner or later you are going to have an ass ugly PU parked in your driveway.

You are discussing accomplished shooters to guys who have never fired a bullet farther than 300 yards. The heavier bullet(spotting ability), recoil manageability, and industry support pushes guys to 6.5 creed, this is a simple fact.

I should not do this, but I consider you one of the biggest fanboys in the industry. Wasn't it about 8-9 mos ago you referred to your friend Mr. Tubb as Randy or some wrong name, then someone had to correct you.

New rifle will be back from the smith in a week or two at most hopefully so starting to toss a few idea’s around for the next build. This build will be for hunting purposes, so I’d like an action that is strong and reliable. I’m going back and fourth over a couple and have narrowed it down too bighorn tl3 or defiance deviant. If impact comes out with a long action anytime before I purchase one it will be in the running’s too but for now it’s these two actions.

From what I’ve been told, the defiance is smoother, just slick all around. But the bighorn dlc’d isn’t far behind plus it is better in the rough conditions.

Any input?

First, sorry about trashing your post.
I have owned both the Defiance and Bighorn TL3. I did not care for my Defiance until I had it salt bath nitride, it made the action for me, and I love it today. You paint or coat this action, bolt raceways, bolt and lugs and it is a known fact that you've altered the tolerances and problems may arise. Either run it high gloss, bead blast or nitride.
I never liked the TL3, I do believe the machine work on the action is about as good as you can get in the tactical world or whatever you want to call it. It's well known that buying prefit barrels for it is a simple and accurate way of rebarreling the rifle, from action to action, they are that close. I did like the controlled rd feed of the action, a way simpler and functional design than a Mausungfield, no grinding on the claw to fit your brass, no buying a new claw if you changed brass brands. What I did not like, and maybe it comes back to tight machining tolerances s that the bolt would get hung up when it was all the way back. My thoughts were the mechanical eject which is incorporated into the bolt stop, with a narrow groove cut in the left bolt lug for it to work was too narrow causing the issue. There was not one person who tried it that it did not happen too either. Maybe an isolated case, I do not know or care, it had to go. I just know I was not going to re-teach myself how to run a bolt, if I wanted to thumb the back end of a bolt, I'd shoot Rem 700's.
Edit: Then we had the NP3 coating on the bolt head, it wore so bad it looked like a wet rat. A Dremel and a wire wheel ss brush shined that up.
Brings me to why I like Impact, raceway guides cut on both lugs, you cannot bind one up. Plus they come nitrided.

Dude, maybe you should lay off the Bud Light, and you talk a lot of trash talk on this forum. I find that people who trash talk in the internet usually shrivel like a spider in person as they are cowards.
