newb's tube gun question

having seen tube gun setups, I have a question...

On these sorts of setups is there a working safety?

I'm guessing not... and that the only safety is an open chamber.

Safety is treating EVERY gun as if it's loaded.

Safety is ALWAYS pointing the muzzle in a safe direction.

NEVER put your finger on the trigger until you're ready to fire.

ALWAYS be sure of your target and backstop.

When not firing, keep the bolt open, and the chamber empty.

A mechanical safety on a target rifle is virtually irrelevant. :)

I'd be way more concerned about the bolt release. :)

yes... i understand firearms safety... thank you.

I also found out about the underbody trigger on the jewels.
I'm interested in this as am considering making an oddball deer zapper :)

hadn't thought about the bolt release.

I have a CSS R5 and the bolt stop is a bumper in the buttstock. A varmint rifle or tactical rifle sure, a deer zapper no way. Large and heavy.
