Not having any snow where I was at 12-14 we used a flattened cardboard box as our sled and a very well way to steep dry grass hill side, amazing how many rocks hide in the grass, Me being the test dummy went first, I was at first laughing then screaming ended up at the ER a fox tail embedded in the back of my throat made me throw up at least 20 times, I had to walk half a mile home and pray my mom was there, A week later I kept my mouth shut on the ride only to find a tree had grown since on the sled course. And not one of my friends ever laughed their a--es off at me.... Nope I did not have that kind of friends they did, Looking back at the carnage I smile at the rate of survival compared to todays kids, Guess things like that have gotten way more dangerous than they used to be.
