New use for security cameras

I bought a security camera system and had more cameras then I had positions for. I decided to put a camera inside the garage where I do all my reloading and smithing work. Was working on something the other day and “lost” a tool I was using. Pulling out my hair and scrambling my brain ... heavy frustration set in. Then the idea hit me, I went to the replay (LOL). I accessed the garage camera and played back what I had been doing that morning and sure enough the tool was right where the camera showed it to be. I might need more cameras for inside the house and further searches. LOL

Got my wheels turning. It always amazes how many items I "lose" while doing both those tasks, especially smithing.

This is just a bad idea. The wife could be monitoring you all day in the shop like a lab rat all the while thinking how she could have done so much better. "Look at those simple tasks that confuse him so much"
If I had this, my wife would wake up in the middle of the night, shut down the system, and go hide stuff on me for her viewing pleasure the next day.
Then watch me walk back and forth from the garage to the gun room and back 10 times.

My wife knows I have nothing to hide. It's a waste of her time to monitor cameras in my reloading area or gun room. She'd much rather have me in there doing what I love rather than running the bars or worse. Everyone has a hobby. There's alot worse ones and believe it or not more expensive ones as well. That camera idea was a great one by the way. I misplace stuff all the time. I too have a 5 camera security system I haven't installed yet. Think I'll consider using one monitor for that reason. After all, putting one in that area is also for security. Lots of valuable items in that room.

Well at least you dont put your cell phone in the fridge and lose your keys in the kids tackle box --for several months...Also to my surprise I have found the tv remote stashed in the junk console in my tractor. I am way past the cereal in the fridge and milk in the pantry common type of switcheroo. My 8 yo wants me to get tested for alzheimers.

After tearing the house apart for 2 days, I replayed the security camera video and I watched myself toss my truck keys in the trash. Then went through a bag of trash and retrieved my keys.
Haha, I lost my mailbox and house keys for 6-7 mos. The wife wondered why I never collected the mail. In Nov, I finally grabbed the coat that sat in the back seat of my PU for use at the range, there they were, just where I left them.

I remembered the last place I had the GPS watch I was looking for was when I was throwing some stuff in the trash can... remembered about 10 minutes after the truck came by....
