New to me 3006 brass

Today I acquired 60 pounds of 30-06 brass. I started to separate by head stamp. 40 ish % RP, same FC, small amount is Winchester the rest appears to be foreign/military( some marked fa 34, tw43 the military brass has rosey or pinkish hue). I have one 30-06(new in the box 700 Adl). I'm going to finish separating it and probably keep 100-200 pieces. What should I keep? I had a full length die set, so I grabbed a Remington case and had no problem sizing it .003 under to fit the rifle. The die had been set to size for a Rem semi auto rifle, so my bolt gun required several thousandth more sizing to move the shoulder for easy chambering.

TW is not familiar to me. FA 34 is Frankford Arsenal. As far as corrosive vs non-corrosive, won't matter if you clean the brass. I'd take FC and Winchester over RP, but honestly, there's no way of knowing which is better because I am assuming you have no lot number history. Probably can't go wrong with any choice. Might just pick what you have the most of. Can't imagine that any of what you have has Berdan flash holes but you might want to eyeball the primer pockets to make sure they all have a single centered flash hole. Good luck!

A few years back, I acquired 60 rounds of black tip 30-06 rounds TW 43 at a gun show. I believe they are a military cartridge. I have no idea what the brass is like from a reloading point, as I haven't used them yet.

TW was Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant. Set up during WW2 it was operated by Federal Ammunition Company for much of its life.

as for which to keep, keep the brand you prefer. In the 1980s all makes were decent, but in the past 20 years Winchester and Remington have fallen in quality. Federal has a reputation for being a bit softer, but I’ve never experienced it in 223 and 308, nor 30-06, but I haven’t bought much in years.

The black tips were Armor Piercing and the primers were corrosive. Shoot them if you want, just remember to clean the rifle well when you are done.

I'm thinking that this brass may have been someone's M1, play time. The federal brass looks older than the Rem. Only fun thing in the 30# I have looked through, 1 375 H&H case will keep it on my shelf of reference brass. Raining today, hope to get thru the rest of the brass. Not sure what to look for on the brass, signs of M1 firing.

Both the TW and FA are corrosive primers. I would pull the bullets & powder and deprime (carefully) swage the primer pockets and put new primers in.

Tumble them, sort by headstamp, set aside what you like the best, then bag and sell the rest. I can tell you from personal experience that, unless you have a barn, too much brass is not a good thing. I strongly recommend annealing .30-'06 brass.
