New to loading rifle: loading 223 for bolt guns

Nothing on the Alliant website to indicate what type of powder it is, extruded or ball.
Can someone enlighten me?

CFE223 is flat spherical (i.e. large amount of surface area), which will mean it will be more sensitive to temperature fluctuations. Varget and XBR8208 are extruded stick powders (less surface area), which tend to be less sensitive to temperature changes.

Did that, found nothing. Can you provide a link for we techno-boobs?

Well of course you wouldn't find anything regarding CFE-223 on Alliant's website as it is a Hodgdon product. But at the same token, while browsing Alliant's site one might be interested in checking out AR-Comp for the 223. It is not spherical (or ball) like CFE-223, but it is extruded. I think the kernels are fairly short compared to some other extruded powders.
