New to 6mmbr

I'm new to the 6mmbr, and see that CCI450's are very prevalent in that cartridge. I've got a 5K case of CCI 400BR's that I use for my other small primer cartridges.

I'll buy a few 450's....but just wondering about whether anyone here has used both, or thinks that the 400BR's will perform as well as the 450's?

Thanks,

George

George: Better clear up some identification here. CCI 400 are the standard small rifle. CCI BR4 are match small rifle. There are no "400BR's".

I believe this article will help you with your primer delema. It explains the differences.....

I use TulaAmmo SRM primes in my BRX.

I'm using CCI BR4s in my 6 Dasher with good results.

I, too, saw all the references to 450s and was concerned until I started loading the BR4s.

Note Fdshuster's clarification.

George,

First of all, welcome to the forum. We appreciate you being here.

I have used CCI 400 standard primers with good success in my 6BR. I also shoot Sierra 75 gr. Varminter hollowpoints #1510. With those and Varget powder I consistently have 100 yard five shot groups in the 2's and 3's, and on a good day some in the 1's.

My rifle was made by Shirley Brothers Custom Rifles in Arkansas, who make rifles that are better than I can shoot.

Again, welcome.

Thanks for the feedback.....very interesting article from Calhoon also.....

I"m going to start with the BR4's since I've got a good supply. I've also used a ton of Rem 7 1/2 BR in in my 17 Rem, 17FB, 20VT and .204.....
