I have been wanting a 6BR--Finally found a new in the box from my neighbor of all folks--Savage LRPV, HS Precision stock--he bought two boxes of Lapua and shot one --I got the rifle--NO Free bore--had a time with it so a great pal here loaned me his Uni Throater--a little whittle on the throat ( man they should NOT let kids play with these --they cut Fast) I just knew I had killed the barrel and cut too far--but then ....
I followed the recipe right off this site 107 Sierra , 30g Varget--started .015 off the lands
My very first 3 shots of my loads-- chrono said ES of 7 and this is how they landed
I have all year to make it better--what a cartridge! PD's better Look Out this season!!

“Danger Will Robinson! Danger!”

Turn and run hard in the opposite direction. This stuff is addictive and these guys will definitely make sure you learn enough to be a dedicated addict.

My first bench gun, a Savage 6br and, my first thread here. I was on the edge, but still had a fighting chance:

My second thread— they pushed me off the edge and there was no turning back:

No regrets, though my wallet is lighter. Enjoy the ride!

I love the 107smk in my 6BR's. Have shot 1000's of them in many 6BR barrels with both Varget and H4895. Enjoy

My Savage 6BR with PacNor pre-fit barrel liked the older 105gr Scenars .08 into the lands (.08" past "first touch"). It also shot the shorter 80gr and 95gr Bergers and 90gr Scenars great -- jumped as needed. The 103gr load started at 30.0 Varget and finished at 30.3 (spring/fall) load.

Here are 3-shot groups with a variety of powders. The 6mmBR cartridge is inherently accurate in a good barrel.
