New Teslong Borescope Folds and Focuses

The discount seems to only work on Amazon. It does not work ordering direct from Teslong. List price without the discount is cheaper direct from Teslong than from Amazon. With the discount it is cheaper at Amazon.

Edit: it is cheaper at the moment during the discount window to order from Amazon. Once the discount period is over it would be cheaper direct from Teslong.

I'm confused, they're $180 on the Teslong site and $190 on Amazon but after the discount it comes down to $162, so Amazon with the code I provided is cheaper.

Yes, exactly. I posted to save people the time from trying to use the discount on Teslong’s site. If you fart around and miss the discount window in Amazon my post would then inform people at that point that the scope is cheaper direct from Teslong rather than Amazon.

I amended my post to clarify.

Well, I have been waiting for this borescope since January when they told me that they hoped it would be available in a few months. Fast forward to my seeing this post by John.... I was at a match out of town but was able to add the item to my cart on Amazon, apply the discount (thanks, John!) and have it arrive at my house when I returned yesterday.

I quickly read the instructions (I have had several Teslong scopes, and still use my Hawkeye which I have had for ~ 10 years).
Here are my impressions:
1. I don't like the cable which attaches the rigid scope to the camera; I find it too short and inflexible
2. I was unable to use the 6mm mirror in my 6 dasher chamber/barrel.... the fit was too tight and it started to get stuck in the bore. I switched to the 22mm mirror, which worked well enough in the 6mm barrel.
3. Perhaps there is a way to focus the borescope when it is fed throught a boreguide into the chamber and barrel, but I was unable to reach the focus ring with the boreguide in place. When I removed the boreguide and fed the Teslong directly (and blindly) into the action/chamber/barrel I was able to reach the focus ring as long as the borescope was not advanced too far into the bore.
4. The focusing is impressive, and I was able to get some amazingly clear view of the chamber and barrel (better that anything I have seen on any other borescope).

Initially, I was going to return the borescope, but having the ability to focus the images and obtain such clarity makes it a keeper for me.

Great review!
I just can’t make myself buy one till they make a longer one to go all the way down a reasonable length barrel with a guide. My current flexible Teslong does this.

So, the good out weighted the bad in your opinion, which made it a keeper?

Here are some additional images I took of a new chambered barrel that is not mounted on an action.

Yeah, I had the same problem and covered that in the video. It was probably the only thing that was a little annoying for me simply because you have to pull it out focus and then put it back into check focus but once it was set, I never had a problem. It seems to stay under tension pretty well once set.

I know the cord and overall lengths are all going to be personal preference for people, but I know I actually fought with longer cords before and had to put twist ties around them. For me the shorter cord has actually been a benefit and I think they beefed up the cable which is why it’s a little less flexible.

Great images. I wish Teslong would write their own borescope app though; the ones I've tried (third party USB camera apps) have been iffy at best. Ideally it would allow for some amount of color balancing, brightness, and contrast adjustments.

I have an older model Teslong that uses the same screen. It never left me impressed.

I got this version after a late night drink... and WOW the image quality is 10x the older models.
Yep I was skeptical of ordering one with the same screen that came with the flex model but yeah it's much improved. Wish I could have bought just the scope and not have two identical screens now.
