New suppressor law in texas???

As long as all parts originated in Idaho you should be ok.
if i recall, from a l-o-n-g time ago, a similar argument was shot down under the interstate commerce clause. the legal position was.... for example... the steel was made in another state. the machine tooling made in another state. the cutting oil.... oh, you get the idea.

The argument about steel and machinery crossing state lines is pretty lame but I'm sure it's been used. The government will keep as much of our lives under their control as they can. It's just another reason to vote the miscreants out and change a lot of micromanagement of our states rights.
agreed, it's a lame argument, but they're gonna use it.

Several yrs ago Tennessee struck the law from the books in TN that prohibited possession of silencers. Everyone went interweb crazy that you could buy cans in TN w/o a stamp, which wasn't the point nor was it the case. TN just stopped considering possession whether correctly stamped or not a crime under state statute, and will/may turn over any prosecutions to the feds and not persue them at the state level.

Unless the NFA is somehow authorized under the interstate commerce clause, and the in state sale and manufacture can be shown to be exempt then it will still apply. If that is the case then TX telling you you don't need a stamp is about like TX telling you you don't have to pay Federal Income Tax, it won't help you in federal court.

No. Free press.

The problem is they've found other ways to control the press.

The press needs to be free.

Not directing this at you, simply commenting on the phrase "free press".

There is no such thing as a "free press", never has been. All media is privately owned. Always has been, always will be... Every time you read anything or see anything from anyone it is coming from a person with self interest.

For the most part, all of the media here in America is owned by rich families (using corporations as a shield, same as every other business---many of these families are not American in origin or allegiance, BTW). These families have agendas. This is obvious.... In fact, the media as a whole is infinitely more powerful than the government. Our media here can literally drive people to burn down their own cities in a matter of a day or a week. The government does not have that power. The media tells you what to be afraid of, who to hate, who to worship, it creates fury over a guy getting choked by a police officer 6 states away... It makes gods of men.

Facebook can change the family conversation in a matter of a few minutes... that is serious power.

Yet, for some reason, people think their talking head of choice is their friend... That their local paper is monitoring local corruption, exposing the bad guys... WHY???? Why would ANYONE think that?

Think about the idea that you are a farm boy in South Dakota in 1917 and you get the idea to go kill the Germans in Europe... where would you get such a notion? A farm boy that has never MET a German, maybe never left his own town... would suddenly, passionately, decide he must travel across the globe to kill someone... because the paper said they were raping nurses and eating babies or some such nonsense. (Remember the babies in incubators thrown on the cold floor by the Iraqis?---never happened, not even a little bit) I tell you how that happens... the "free press". Lies... Lies... lies and more lies... rich and powerful families that don't care about farm boys be they American, British, French, German, Iraqi, Saudi, etc etc

And people never learn... I mean they are simply memorized by these wicked devices. It is witchcraft.

Even now as people here will read this, they will call me a "conspiracy theorist" and tell me my views are "crazy" and "too far out there" and I am a kook... Yup. Witchcraft.

There is no free press.

Sure there is. Project Veritas, Crowder, Bongino, Matt Walsh, Technofog, Glenn Greenwald.

You don't need to be a paper or a major cable tv outlet to be a reporter anymore.

I am sure many people think Q anon is "free press" also... all I can say from many years of experience, is beware of "rebel media" in the exact same way one would be aware of mainstream media.

From my experience, if you are TRULY exposing the bad guys, you won't have a platfrom for very long (see: Youtube, Facebook purges of 2019 through today). At one time it was safe to have a website, but now even the server platforms (many of them owned by Amazon) are purging entire websites.

You do not have to burn books anymore... You can just ban them on Amazon.

Does anyone have any info on guys getting busted for only having an unregistered can? Or is it normally after a more serious offense and those charges are tacked on?

Good old Walter Cronkite quipped many years ago that the media is all about entertainment not necessarily news. They are free to publish what they wish and they do. Politics will always be involved in what they decide to say. Look at what they do. They all parrot the same sentence in most instances. Remember "gravitas". They still erupt on that from time to time. I'm pretty sure there's some little dweeb sitting in his mother's basement in his undies writing the order of the day for the various media outlets to follow. One would think they'd at least have the originality to change the sentence. However they dutifully plagiarize themselves at the public's expense. It's called education. A topic repeated over and over is often remembered. But they do have the right to publish whatever they want right or wrong. I have no problem with that but I do think they ought to be able to be sued for publishing things that harm the subject falsely. Currently Social Media outlets are exempt from that which pretty much puts them up as a protected class of partisan publication.
