Well being a Texan, I am curious who will be the first to test this. I could see arrest by the ATF and a case in federal court. Will surely test the Tenth Amendment. Win at the federal level would be remarkable but a loss would be one of those orange jumpsuits described above.

Will never happen. A bag of dope is a minor crime. Firearm related charges start at felony and go up from there. No one will take that risk
Its only been minor recently....there’s a lot of bros who did 20+ year sentences for having some pot on them. It got to the point where there were just to many to prosecute for the court systems to be effective. Plus an effective cultural movement and all the lobbying from that community didn’t hurt either. We could do it too if we all actually banded together. I 100% agree there will definitely be some martyrs if guys took it seriously. Hell there’s already been.

The media is 100 percent of the problem.
Dope head gets busted and the media makes a big deal out of an innocent crime. Guy with a gun and a "stockpile of 1000 rounds" is made to look like the unabomber.
Straight up, media needs to be regulated...absolute American cancer.

Im in an all or nothing mode at the moment. The press is what generates all this uproar, civil disobedience, and toxic atmosphere in the US. You can’t be for specific agendas, laws, and regulation (not you, the press) and then gripe and complain when there’s a possibility of you falling under that same hammer. Either we are all free or we are all slaves. Right now the press is driving us toward slavery. I want them in the front seat next to me. Reap what they sow.
Think about how silly this thread is. We are in awe that a state is standing up and saying it’s ok to screw a tube on the end of your gun. How far have we fallen when we can’t even do something as petty as that?

This is what happened to me, my state at the time had no overtime or min wage state laws, My understanding was the Fed wage laws did not apply to my company because we were not involved in interstate commerce. Told my guys they can work as many hours as they want at straight time no time and a half overtime pay, these extra hours strictly optional, everybody happy, until I fire a POS. drops a dime on me. The Feds audit my books find something I bought at Home Depot shipped in from out of state, Wa La like Magic I am involved in interstate commerce. You have to be pragmatic the cost of settling is less than the cost of defense. That is where they always get you. They do not have to pay the attorneys that sue you ( we tax payers do that) but you do have to pay the attorney that defends you, win or lose. The Feds have made three runs at me, I lost twice because I settled for what was a lot of money for me. The 3rd time they backed away. I never did anything that a reasonable peer would think was wrong. It is a coin toss with those assholes, heads you lose, and tails you lose.
This suppressor law has been on the books in Idaho for quite a few years. As long as all parts originated in Idaho you should be ok. Lol! I don't know of anyone willing to roll the dice. Conviction starts with a mandatory felony and goes up from there! Anyone feeling lucky!

Maybe, maybe not. Some down and out individual that is 75+ may take that risk and the notoriety that comes with it. At that point a life sentence is not as long as it use to be. 3 hots and a cot in a federal day care may be vacation for some. If that individual also needs medical care, it is a real plus.
It certainly beats dying under a bridge in a homeless encampment.
The best way to manage the free press is to create a new set of crime/tort called Journalistic Malpractice. Gross failure to do due diligence or malicious reporting of false information should be punishable in the penal system.

We are getting closer each year. If the States had the same "electoral college" system as the Federal system we would have a good chance of avoiding this but that will not happen.

It's interesting but I'm sure there would be challenges. Andrew Jackson had a quotable quip to Chief Justice Marshal I think. "You have made your law now enforce it". Something to that effect. Since I'm not a lawyer I'm not qualified to opine on it but it does sound exciting. Federals might be able to curtail manufacture but Ownership would seem problematic.
